Hammer & Rails did a nice story yesterday on him..... Besides he is now up to 230; I liked this part.....

"Expect more of an AJ Hammons type show and go where he may trail his man, he will probably get some blocks with his length. The kids arms are like to his knees."

Certainly like his potential in a couple years to be a forward or a stretch 5 if he ever gets the muscle.

Nice article but looks like it was written by an 8th grader. Spelling errors, wrong tense, grammar etc. I used to go nuts when my engineers or managers sent out emails that looked like this one. How you write is a reflection of your professionalism. With spell checker and grammar check, there is little excuse for this type of presentation on the internet, unless you have fat fingers like me. It's one thing to make errors on a chat board but it's another level when you are selling your work on the internet.

Hahaha - I appreciate some of the things H&R does but spelling is not their core competency.

I know these articles seem to indicate a change in culture, but I appreciate your dedication to maintaining standards of communication. Especially in these times where semantics are so important in debate.

Compleatley agrie wif uoy. I haete tat shiet.

some good insight. but they seem to agree with previous reports that Haarms would make a nice tall perimeter PF than a dominating center in the paint.

This points to the need of finding another true 5 ! is Ondigo that person? I'm not thrilled with our current 2018 center targets.

You don't like Trapp? I like him and hope we get him. Seems like a more agile version of Haas

Actually graduated from MHHS in 64. All Anderson schools were great then. Now Madison County may have the worst schools in the state.

Someone like Shaq, right!!!???

RIGHT !! finally we agree. Shaq !!!! or a Dwight Howard or Mutumbo clone would be ok !

What I'd really like to see is a center who is a great shot blocker and rebounder and is not that interested in scoring - kind of like Dennis Rodman. Hammons was a great shot blocker ad defender. I believe we have enough outside shooters, and we don't need a PF or C to be firing away 3 point shots. I cringed every time Biggie took a 3 point shot because I knew if he missed, there would be nobody to get the rebound.

I believe we have enough offensive fire power. I want a defensive force. And remember, I'm talking about 2018 when Haas is gone. Right now, all we have to replace him in 2018 is Haarms and Wheeler. Ondigo is badly needed.. I know McCoy and Tilmon are long shots. but they would be welcomed. I wasn't sad to see Epperson sign with Creighton.

Josh Bonhotal posted a video on Twitter of a recent workout Haarms did. Said he is up 20lbs since January.

Not sure the amount of weight he is lifting but looks like he is getting stronger.

Not sure he will transform into an elite shot blocker but can certainly be a shot disruptor based on size.

Haas is a poor at best shot blocker but an elite shot changer.

You don't have to erase shots to have an impact defensively in the post. Ironically, it seemed that Haas picked up 2-3 silly offensive fouls agame doing stuff he didn't need to to get by defenders. It was rare that he got called for anything on the D end this year. He was great at staying vertical and making players go around him. Hard to do at 7'2", 300!

Don't forget Taylor....

Not sure I agree on Haas changing that many shots, even for a 7'2 guy.
While Haas doesn't have the worst case of WMD we've ever seen, he has been rejected by the rim a few times.

Not even close. No way

hahaha you are clueless.

8x All Star
8X All NBA
5X All Defensive
3x Defensive Player of the Year
Led a team to the Finals

According to Basketball Reference, there is a 99.1% probability that he makes the HOF.

Again, don't let your dislike of him cloud your judgment, or you will be rightfully called clueless. That goes for those liking your post as well.

I'm sure you're the same guy who screams, "get off of my lawn!"

Nope. Just don't like watching some bastardized version of a great game.

The fact that you like the NBA does explain a number of things though.

Care to explain how it's a "bastardized version?" It certainly has its flaws, but if you haven't noticed, the NCAA game has serious flaws as well.

I appreciate watching the best of the best, and that's what the NBA is. I also appreciate the college game and how it's somewhat more of a "struggle" with players who can't really create their own shot, but get the most out of their ability, like PJ Thompson.

Your inability to give reasonable thought to both sides of the spectrum says a lot about you, however.

It's the popular action of the "NCAA Purist" to make claims about how bad the NBA is and how it's not basketball. The same people rarely if ever watch actual NBA games, especially the playoffs where the competition kicks up to a whole new level. I much prefer the college game on a day to day basis, but I also love the playoffs and the differences each level has.

Yea I'm sorry I still think players need to dribble the basketball every 4-5 steps to be considered real basketball. That's just me though. Several times each year I run across a clip on social media showing the most ridiculous uncalled travels in the NBA. Always good for a laugh.

Then I watch NBA fans marvel at the "skill" of how quickly a player can go from end to end, cross someone over, or drive to the basket and I'm sitting back thinking, "Yea....eliminating the need to dribble kind of helps you get around the court with the basketball....."

Frankly I have a theory about the average intelligence of NBA fans. Can't prove it but I'm pretty sold on it based on anecdotal evidence.

By the way, have they changed the rules yet to protect the players that can't hit a free throw from having to shoot them? This is discussion I love to hear the NBA fans try to defend.

My biggest problem with the college game is it's becoming more like the NBA. I understand the NCAA is concerned that interest in the college game seems to be waning a bit. All the rule changes to encourage more scoring seems to be their solution.
I admit to being old school....... I enjoy a defense forcing a shot clock violation more than a breakaway 360 dunk, call me crazy.

Is the NBA bad and notorious for travels? Yes it is. Can you find ridiculous clips? Yes you can. You can find equally bad clips of things that have happened in college games. Maybe not specifically travels but there are plenty of other calls or non calls that are just as bad and blatant. That doesn't diminish the overall skill required to play the game at the level NBA players are playing at. Most these guys came out of college so it's not like the NBA is drawing players from a separate pool with the exception of the foreigners. I have a theory about the average intelligence of those who can't see things from multiple points of view and are incapable of stepping outside of their own box. I'm 100% sold on said theory.

And since you are an NBA fan, I apply my theory to you and discount your point of view.

Why I don't watch much NBA....
1. I have alot of things in my life and have to eliminate some of the less desirable to watch...in sports which I love, that is the NBA(and baseball). Not to mention so many other things to do in life....
2. NBA is less desirable because of favored refereeing favoring a star over the other players in the game. For example...I remember watching the Pacers get beat on a last second shot by MJ which he drained. Of course the refs did not call the obvious push off to get open for the shot because he was "MJ".
3. In addition the lack of travel calls, carrying calls are intolerable.
4. General lack of D and hustle during the season.
5. The over promotion of NBA by ESPN....they over hype the deal....makes me not want to watch when I feel I am being presented a media narrative of the great NBA & their constant over hyping of NBA.

What I do like about it when I do watch some as my schedule and desire to do so lets me....
1. The home team Pacers.
2. Playoff drama....especially when Pacers are involved.
3. The better offensive flow & higher skill level.

#2 and #5 are two things I agree on. The star treatment is bad, but you also see the same thing in the college game, just not quite on the level of the NBA. I can't stand ESPN and avoid games because I don't want to watch them on ESPN and provide support to their network. I don't watch many NBA games during the regular season for this reason but I do watch whatever playoff games I'm able to.

#3 I wouldn't say the NCAA is great about calling traveling or carrying on guards either. Not as bad as the NBA but it is still an issue

Empty stats. How many times did he do it on a winning team?

Pretty disappointing pick up this year for Atlanta.

He's literally done nothing since leaving Orlando. How many of his 8 All stars are because Orlando had to send somebody to the game?

I don't see him as a HOF. In the NBA, how many guys have gotten in with an 8 year run?

Pure idiocy. He's a HOF'er, no question. His Magic teams were good, primarily because of him. They got to the Finals with freaking Rafer Alston on the team. Come on, man.

His Magic teams made the playoffs in 6 seasons while he was there. Not bad.

Also, how has he been disappointing for Atlanta? He plays less than 30 minutes per game, averages 13.5 points per game on 63% shooting, averages 12.7 rebounds per game, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Oh yeah, not to mention he's averaged a double double for every single one of his 13 NBA seasons.

And a team doesn't "have" to send anyone to the game. This isn't baseball. You're clueless.
