Consider that if Ed Schilling had not left Park Tudor to go with Alford to UCLA, then Calipari (who Ed was Asst with for several years) and Alford (who he is assistant with now) would get all the good kids from Indiana who would have probably gone to Park Tudor ... as well as his being Coach of the Adidas National Team and heading kids in those two directions too.
Taking me back. I remember Ed jr playing at lebanon under Rosenstihl and his father Ed Sr. playing at Butler in the mid 60s. Dad was more robust than son... :)

So after this school year he has 2(2) years to play 5(1.60) semesters? Just kidding, but my goodness, why is it so hard to understand good people? Never have I been through such a lion fight.

Eddie has had quite the journey. His bio reads like a who's who of basketball from the last 20 years. He's really enjoying this year after the stress of last year.

So....

You can take 1 year after high school and go to a prep school if you want and your eligibility doesn't start. But it starts after one year after high school if you do enroll in a prep school?

AND if you just go get a job at a gas station after high school your eligibility doesn't start? Just if you enroll in some sort of school be it a college or a prep school?

I believe this would've been his second year at prep school, post graduate high school.

Hopefully we can all now agree, given the 0.8 rule (1.6/2) provided by the good doctor, that he should sit out Thursday games. Now I must return to the Stabilizer for another round.

This is true for domestic students. But a foreign student in good academic standing (and a valid student visa, of course) can apply for a medical waiver so that they now have 2 years to complete 4 years of eligibility. It's all pretty simple.

Got that all figured out. Now has anyone seen him practice or talked to anyone that has? How good can he be?

Which would of course lower his rivals rating to a one star.
There's an NCAA rule about not allowing a lowering of a star-rating based on their eligibility calculation. The penalty is that you must use 162.01.01B calculation - which often, although not always, reduces their eligibility, unless they are a foreign student.

It appears we got lucky then! I just hope we make sure to force him into a game or two to watch him turn the ball over a couple of times while racking up a free throw in a combined 2:34 of clock time. It would be totally worth a year of eligibility. Maybe he is more mature and prepared than I suggest but I want him to have four years to show it.

Watch for Painter to walk down the bench, have his head turned watching the game, pull on Haarms jersey and say "Get in for Vince." ... thinking he pulled on Haas' jersey ....

Can you imagine...I would suggest he not dress for games! If we get a big in foul trouble we can play 4 out and still be as big as most teams. If a longer term loss occurs I don't think a freshmen big this late in the season is going to help much.

Anyone heard or seen how good the kid is? I was real impressed with his athleticism and outside shot on his videos.
Did he trip over his feet in warm ups? Did his shot look good. He will put on weight and get stronger. Painter and Co. will get his inside game going I'm sure.

Here's to Haarms ringing in the new year by getting smacked around in practice by a couple of Godzillas. Will the beating reinforce his need to pump iron this year? You bet your sweet Aspercream.

I guess that would be Haarms getting in Haas way....or getting a Biggie burger....

I've only seen what you have seen. Based on that I suspect he will always tend to play facing the basket. That doesn't mean he can't be effective inside, but that it will be based more off of his movement than what we are used to with Hammons and Haas who are classic back to the basket posts.

Saw him in person, and couldn't help but think he has a very similar look to Haas. Kid can really utilize this time with the team to put on some productive weight/strength and gain experience. They are two totally different players with different games, but Haarms looks like he could pass as his skinny brother.

Haarms resembles Haas but has the build of JaJuan Johnson.

Great question. I assumed that nag had seen him play and thinks he's ready, since he said that he hopes he plays this year.

Without seeing him play, I have assumed he will practice and work out this year and all summer to be ready to contribute next year.
