The guy probably owned a gun. Like Russia wants every American citizen to have a gun. Maybe they thought the Clinton Foundation was the NRA?

US Person 1 stated "Unrelated to specific presidential campaigns, I've been involved in securing a VERY private line of communication between the Kremlin and key POLITICAL PARTY 1 leaders (Republican party is Political Party 1.

The statement was October 2016, long after the GOP leaders knew Russia was attacking the US.

US Person 1 and 2 in this indictment won't be sleeping well for a while.

The NRA has been eerily quiet about all of this. Bunch of kindergartners get gunned down and the NRA has to jump in front and center, but with this they're scared silent. This Russian news isn't just bad publicity, it's a threat to the entire organization and every politician they've funneled money to recently.

If their lawyers are any good (Narrator: "they are"), they're informing their client about the mountain of potential sh*t that's headed down the pike. Any statement they release has to be truthful or it adds to the pile.

Or maybe I'm wrong and they're just too busy making a dystopian video urging the right to take up arms against those who oppose dear leader.

who was judge who handled this indictment? what other case was she working on? did FBI know of her involvement? how did glenn simpson know so much about her? a lot to come of this in future.

In their latest filing, prosecutors argued that even if they had wrongly interpreted Ms. Butina’s text messages to a friend, she should not be released from custody, because she was likely to flee the country. Since her arrest, they said, it has become even clearer that she was not simply a foreign graduate student with an interest in American politics, but a Russian operative.

They said that Russian government emissaries had visited her at least six times in jail, and that Sergey V. Lavrov, the Russian foreign minister, had complained twice about her prosecution to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. “The actions of the Russian Federation and its officials toward the defendant have confirmed her relationship with, and value to, her own government,” they said.
