Company fires employees for doing the right thing. Criminals are supposed to be protected it appears.

Walmart had a policy years ago that said if the pharmacy was being robbed, that they were not allowed to call the police. They had to call management. Calling the police would result in termination.

Looks like these retailers are almost encouraging theft. Store security must be a thing of the past. More and more people will just believe it’s acceptable to steal merchandise since there are no consequences.

Oh no, store security will just change. Have you seen images of stores in some places of California? Every single thing is under lock and key.

That’s true. The criminals will just ask the store employees to unlock the merchandise and then steal it. The handbook of the store will say stand down and don’t impede the theft. Sad it’s probably coming to this or already has.

Further evidence of the pussification of Biden's America.
Why do these woke companies expect people to put aside their ethics, morals and belief in right vs wrong simply because the corporation doesn't want to seem insensitive to those "in need"?

I hope this woman can lawyer us and sue the leggings off Lululemon (pun intended).

It's store policy at most retailers for associates to not confront shoplifters. It's dangerous to them and other customers, and puts the store at much more liability for damages than anything being stolen would be worth.

But go ahead and get your culture war boners up for another thing. Keep eating that slop!

Then why bother to pay for anything. There’s no resistance or even following them out of the store to record their vehicle or plate number on a cell phone. More and more theft to follow and be accepted.

"Culture war boners?" That's a new one. Pretty funny, well done.

Then why should banks have armed security? After all, I would assume banks are insured against theft just like a retail store. (and yeh, I already know you're going to say "You can't equate stealing a $100 shirt with stealing $10K from the bank")

Here's what you might see start to happen.
Managers of LuLu stores, who have essentially been told that there's no punishment for theft at the store but there is for reporting it, will now be getting their little slice of this side hustle $ by organizing the best time to commit the theft and then getting their % of when the stuff is sold online. LuLu has huge resale value, so when something LuLu is listed as brand new with tags at 50% off, it'll sell immediately.

You guys are funny. This whole situation went down exactly like it should have for all involved parties.

Employees break company policy and are terminated.

Thieves are arrested and charged with felony robbery.

Everyone must face the consequences of their actions. What are you all really wanting this story to be?

I believe what you are referring to is “petty theft.” It appears that the thieves have ramped up their approach to go passed “petty theft”. When a thief runs out with their arms full of goods, I don’t think that really meets the definition of “pretty”, like someone sticking a pair of earrings in their purse.

Oh, and who alerts security guards if the associates don’t “engage” shoplifters. Or do stores need to have a security guard for every “shopper”.

But hey, there is a reason why stores are closing in San Francisco and Chicago due to theft.

The article below states “rampant theft”…but TVDNW says meh, no big deal, don’t confront thieves as it puts the store at much more liability for damages than anything being stolen would be worth. In the article, the stores are no longer making a profit…so a lot of theft.

Do you know why the thieves were arrested? Did it have anything to do with store employees recording them, following them out of the store and recording their license plate?

What ever happened to "see something, say something"?

No, I do not. What we know is that the thieves broke the law and the employees broke company policy. All of them are now dealing with the consequences of their decisions.

You do realize how the criminals got caught was because of the actions from the now fired employees did right. So if they obey “policy” why not just have everyone rob the stores and don’t call the police? I really worry about some peoples logic! You clearly have never dealt with a criminal/evil before in your life. Not all rules or policies are correct.

I forget what state it was but you could look it up really quick but a bus driver just got fired because a criminals pulled a gun on him. Then he pulled his gun out and shot him, people are allowed to defend themselves! If someone robbed your house would you call the police or would you look at your policy chart first? Open your eyes and ask yourself why government/corporations are letting criminals off Scott free and condemning those who do the right thing

Yeah, they have armed security. The tellers wouldn't be confronting a robber. You're almost there!

No, it is not clear the reason they were caught. Maybe they were on camera other than that of an employee. Maybe there were witnesses outside the store that saw a couple of morons getting into their car with a bunch of contraband.

Policy is policy. If you break it, don't be a big baby when your boss does what they said they would. It's really simple to follow policies at work, we all do it every day. But these poor gals are going to be martyrs. LOL get real.

"Scott free" you say? THEY WERE BUSTED ON FELONY CHARGES

Try not to take things out of context and understand the game your in. This event is apart of a greater whole, stories like this pop up everyday to stop the morally good from stopping the bad. Stop and ask yourself why? Why are corporations and government contributing towards moral decay? Your in WWIII and it’s time to wake up.
