Luke Ertel 2026

Luke scored 26 points as they defeated a top ten school in Anderson. Next up Braylon Mullins and his Greenfield team. It's a rematch as Mullins defeat Mt. Veron 60-55 Mullins scored 34 points vs Luke's 19. GC 23-3 and MVF 19-5. Should be a good one for a sectional title. Clearly two of the top teams in Indiana. Last night MVF scored 31 in the 4th quarter. Luke went 8-8 from the line to put it away.

Did they reorganize the sectionals? Thought New Pal was in that one but they are playing Roncalli down in Shelbyville.

It wouldn't be fair to compare Luke he is just too far away from a physical standpoint. As for Antione he is a PG who hangs his hat on being a distributer and help defender no way near the offensive threat as Jack. IMO if you have seen CJ you have a taller less offensive West. West will redshirt not because of a lack of talent but because there will be zero minutes at the #1 or #2 if Smith comes back. The thing about West he rarely misses a shot. Not that he is a great scorer he maybe, but I haven't seen it consistently he just doesn't take bad shots. Which is why I say he passes too much. They lost again last night to the #1 team in OHIO I had planned on watching it but haven't. Jack was recruited to be another Sasha a big guard who can pass defend and knock down a 3. IMO Jack was recruited for a position and West was recruited for being another athletic guard to be molded into what Painter wants same as CJ. I would say Jack can help this team next year and the year after. If West was looking for immediate playing time he chose the wrong school. The thing about Painter he runs a program and recruits to fill a role if you fit the role, you play if not you are coached up until you do. I will say this I like all three and trust Painter. It has taken me awhile to figure what Painter sees that others don't he looks at a player that fits his program all three will do that.
Forget about the redshirt bullshit , it should be a thing of the past. Name the redshirts who have stayed for their 5th year !!

I said you gotta click through the thread! But here ya are:

A welcomed new addition to the Boom Baby Family!

Luke scored 19 points today as they won their regional championship game 74-40 over Brownsburg ( Catching's). Was never a game.

I got to get a good look at J. Gardner tonight in the HS state tournament. He is very smooth and talented. I’d say he’s extremely athletic for being just a 10th grader. Unfortunately they put the whoopin on my Alma Mater and they invoked the mercy rule and they didn’t stop the clock once it was 70-30 in the 3rd. At that point their coach pulled them. So I only got 2 and a half quarters to watch him.

So they were pressing your Alma Mater?

Fishers is tough. Very deep with talent. They have a MAC recruit as their 6th man. And John Anthony Hall is major distruptor on O and D with his athleticism. Very explosive athlete. His head was near the rim on one of his ally oops in Sectionals against Westfield. Would have loved to have him football as a WR.

They did everything very well. Their game is pretty much all above the rim. They are 28-0 for good reason. Just glad they didn’t show up on Purdue’s schedule. Don’t think there is a team in IN that can challenge them.

lot of points to score in 16+ minutes unless they were turning your school over

I believe the case against red shirting is not that the player is bad. But that if the player is awesome, he won’t stay for that 5th year.

Brian Cardinal is a bad example because a lot things have change in ncaa basketball.

Sasha is a good example did he improve enough to be a great player his 5th year? Maybe.

Tkr is an excellent example! However, this is his 4th year. If he has a great ncaa tournament, his draft stock may rise and he may decide to leave and turn pro. If he does decide to leave that provides strength to the people who claim red shirting is a dumb idea. If he decides to stay, it provides strength to the argument of redshirting.

We shall see what happens
