Lost in the Butler game...

Was the great defense that RD played on Dunham.
I agree. There were real positives in that game, but they were overshadowed by the turnovers and overall lack of composure. If the players learn from this and correct their issues, this could turn out to be a positive.

I said before the game as long as Purdue kept Dunham and/or Martin from having a huge game, they should win. Shows what I know....

Also, we still have problems inbounding under the basket. Cost us a timeout. We also don't defend it very well either. I don't understand why MP doesn't get this fixed. It's been a chronic problem since he's been here!

Also lost was the show Biggie put on in the last part of the second half. This kid is something else. If we can put together the whole enchilada, this group has the potential to be a heck of a good team.

Gene had the same problem too if I remember right. Not sure what the issue is....

I don't think it was 'lost'. It just made the loss that much more irritating. If before the game I would have told you that we would outshoot them, outrebound them, get a bunch of blocked shots, make a high percentage of free throws and Dunham craps the bed for an 0-fer everyone on this forum would have guaranteed a Purdue win. But that's the crazy thing about basketball. You have to play every facet of the game at a high level if you want to win consistently. We are very close to being an EXCELLENT team. Let's see if we can make the strides.

I think the biggest thing lost in this game was that Butler is a very good team and a veteran team. Mostly juniors and seniors in key positions vs. our freshman and sophs.

I think what is lost is that this team is 11-1. That one loss was close at the end (overlooking the huge mid-2nd half deficit :D), essentially on the road, at a top 20 team, while not getting typical production from our wings.

I felt this team would be pretty good, at minimum. At best, I figured this would be a Final Four caliber team. So far, this team is much closer to that latter than the former. There were a lot of 'ifs' coming into this season, and so far, most of them have panned out exceedingly well.

At any rate, tonight is a chance for the boys to get the momentum back. ...and a heavy dose of payback is due the Commodores.

Dunham was 3-13 the game before. I wonder if there is something else going on with him. I mean, Davis was good, but several of those were open shots.
