Ross Ade now holds 57K and change. Last home game attendance was 33K, and I am sure this was overly generous. But we will give this to Morgan.

So there were 24K empty seats last game and this number will only grow in the future as the team continues to lose. I realize some competing teams will bring more fans than Minny but this should be easily offset by our own fans staying away.

Assume an average ticket price of $45 based upon the ticket map Purdue provides of Ross Ade. So 24K x $45 equals $1,080,000 in lost revenue per game. This does not include lost concession revenue or lost Purdue sportswear revenue. Call it a million bucks a game.

It looks like Purdue plays 7 home games a year. So quickly this lost revenue number becomes $7 mill per year. And again, this is a very conservative estimate.

Hazell's buyout begins to look much more reasonable when you look at the actual numbers.

You hit it.A new, charismatic ,good coach next year should bring in 8 to 10 thousand more fans per game,so I don't believe they cant afford to fire this staff.

That is what I have been thinking for a while too. Let's assume half of the lost revenue per game, is about $1/2 million per game. Stretch that over a 7-8 home game season. That is $3.5 - $4 million a season! There is your money to pay the assistant coaches competitive salaries. That is where you attract and keep good coaches.

In Tiller's first half of his tenure at Purdue, most games were near sell outs. Where did that sell-out revenue go to? I can tell you where it did not go. During this time, Tiller was asking Burke for increases in coaches salaries and Morgan Burke just shook his head and said 'Freshmen Women's Archery is more important."
