Long Time Purdue Beat Writer Jeff Washburn

RIP Jeff. Read a lot of his Journal and Courier (Purdue and local high school) content over the years. In fact, I grew up on it and the first thing I always looked for when finding a new J&C was his work in the sports section. Followed his work to his other companies as well. Media business changed a lot, but Jeff's work was something I looked forward to. He was also a good guest on Dakich's radio show whenever he was on.

Boiler Up in Heaven Jeff!

Very sad to hear of his passing; really enjoyed his work. It's a small comfort, but yes, at least he spent a good part of his remaining time doing what he loved and getting to see one more win from the Boilermakers.

RIP, Jeff Washburn; prayers to his family.

That game damn near killed me too.

RIP Jeff Washburn...he is the first sportswriter that I ever knew by name and actually looked for his writeups in the J&C after game. Father Time is a son-of-a-bitch.

That's too bad. I always enjoyed reading his work. Back in the late 70s, early 80s he gave our HS alot of props even though we weren't a Tippecanoe county school. I always respected him for that.

That's too bad. I didn't even know he was sick. He was a true professional.
