What does the Dept of Education do to teach our kids, B? Our education system has been broken for decades. Kids can no longer do the three R’s at a high school level yet we are teaching them about LGTBQ. The D of E is nothing more than a support function for teacher’s unions.
You have to take that up to the state level department of education. They set the education standards for the state. The US Dept of Education provides the public school per student funding.
one large problem is that the teachers and administration all drink out of the same trough...and ed skool influences the pedagogy. Last I looked, and it has been a couple of decades, the fed supplied about 8% or so of the funding. He who controls the "testing" controls the instruction and points the mind where it wants. The building principal has a lot to do with the learning process, primarily as a function of his or her discipline or lack of... Then we have teachers whose understanding is the particular text used for six years until the next adoption and little outside that realm of information...and all texts on the market go through multicultural acceptance for texts to be chosen for adoption and of course Mexifornia and Texas scrap what they don't want resulting in something perhaps very dull for the other states to pick since Mexifornia and Texas with so much volume weigh heavily into the process...with a little help from Florida and New York.
