Since we pulled even with Illinois this weekend, I was curious where we stood with the other BT teams. (Purdue wins are first, ties are last). We own winning records against 3, but we could pull to 5 if we played the newbies more. Nebraska, Illinois and Minny wins over the next few years would put us on the high side. The Akers-Colleto-Hazell years didn't do us any favors. Link to site with all the stats: http://www.winsipedia.com/penn-state/vs/purdue

Iowa 47-38-3
Indiana 73-41-6
Illinois 44-44-6
Maryland 0-2
Michigan 14-45
Michigan State 28-35-3
Minnesota 33-37-3
Nebraska 3-4
Northwestern 50-32-1
Ohio State 14-39-2
Penn State 3-14-1
Rutgers 0-1
Wisconsin 29-49-8

If you're comparing records against the other B1G teams, is it fair to consider games prior to the other teams joining the B1G? For example, one of Purdue's wins again Nebraska was in 1958, so as a B1G opponent Purdue's record against Nebraska is really 2-4. The same goes with Penn State..one of Purdue's wins and the tie also date back to the 1950s.

Interesting, so the site doesn't count those? I'll take any wins we can get. :)

Two things I take from that list...

73-41-6 :)

12 of those 49 losses against Wisconsin have been the last 12 times we've played them. Purdue needs to break that streak. Good grief.

Why would you not count wins versus those teams? The stats are for overall records vs teams who are now in the Big Ten.

I choose not to count our loses against these teams during the Hazell years from 2013 through 2016 because we did not have a Big Ten coach......

Agreed. Go by the BTN standard and just adopt the newer members' history..."Hey, 2002 Maryland vs Indiana was an all-Big Ten final game!"
