LewJack update

He had less than 3 ounces?!? Oh man people made it out like he was Scarface. Hopefully he gets past this and doesn't have any more problems.
Lets see -
3 ounces at 28 grams / oz = 84 grams
84 grams at .1 gram dosage = 840 units
Common oz. cutting by 50% = 1680 units
Street sale price of $10 to $20 = $16,000 to $32,000 value.
Ok...whatever...
I defend these guys for a living and no they aren't Scarface but the illicit drug market is a problem and H has become the drug of choice for a lot of upper middle class high schoolers among others.
So, you can diminish it as you choose but until we come to terms with it in some rational way (and I am not of the f-'em and lock 'em up mentality) you will continue to see far too many heroin and fentanyl overdoses and deaths.

I don't disagree, but the guy pushing pills for Lily and the doctor writing the scripts are no better in my book. It comes down to what do we define as "freedom" in our society. Libertarians think we should be allowed to have prostitutes at the mall, modern republicans (post 2008 timeframe) want us drinking seltzer water and bread (until it comes to guns, then we should be able to carry a military weapon into an Arbys in case someone hurts our fee fees). Like most things, the answer lies in the middle.
The rise of synthetic drugs like spice is a big problem and will get worse the longer we refuse to manage the drug trade. Making them illegal doesn't destroy the demand for the product. We've tried locking people up, time for a new strategy.

Lol, what @ Republican remark?... Seltzer water??

Funny you didn't have nothing bad to say about liberals... Something like they think transgenders should use whichever bathroom makes them comfortable, (or whichever one currently has a 8 year old defenseless kid in it). But when you confront said tranny, you invade their safe space, instantly becoming a bigot, racist, stereotypical deplorable...

Something along those lines would be great for the liberal part of your speech.

What rubbish... you probably should educate yourself on the difference between terms like transgender, cross dressing, gay, bisexual, etc. from the term PEDOPHILIA. They are no more the same than child rapist is equatable to non-celibate heterosexual adult male.
You don't have to approve of them but stop being stupid.

I think all drugs should be legal. Goverment shouldn't be allowed to tell us what we can and can't put in our bodies. Hell alcohol is legal and it's as bad or worse than drugs that are illegal. FYI the only drug I have ever done is smoked weed and that was over 15 years ago.

I completely agree if it was some other drug I may be more forgiving. Marijuana, I could care less. However this stuff is being cut up with deadly other drugs and knocking people off left and right. Just my opinion it takes a cold person to be swinging it, especially if you're not even an addict yourself. NO SYMPATHY from me

Agree to a point but only if they get it off the black market, regulate it and tax it. So that others failures (that are going on anyhow) can be contributed to help out some good. It's dangerous right now deadly

I'd rather educate myself on facts and human biology, rather than your liberal opinion on why one should use the bathroom they feel that day. If you can that being stupid, then so be it. It's the only way to fight against facts nowadays.

Not sure how this thread got hijacked, but, given that it has I won't back down from it. Want to point out that your response completely ignores what 70boiler mentioned. The fact (which means that it is a true statement) is that being transgender has nothing to do with being a pedoFile (mis-spelling on purpose). Equating the two makes as much sense as saying short people are murderers and thieves. I am all for protecting defenseless 8 year olds from pedoFiles and all other predators. I wish you success in educating yourself on facts and human biology and any other topic that helps you become a more aware human being. It is a big world out there and lots of new experiences are waiting for you.

He was clearly saying the "tranny bathroom rule" will be taken advantage of by pedophiles. They will claim they were using the bathroom because they are "transgender".

back on topic. We have laws. people don't like laws. Rather than deliberately breaking the law which lewjack obviously did. if you don't like our laws, change your voting habits and elect people who will see your point of view.

obviously, if you do not like our current laws, you must be in a minority, because our current lawmakers are not changing this one anytime soon.

so rather than breaking our laws, obey them. if yo u don't like them, make an effort to change them. that's how the women got the vote and many other laws have been created,, deleted or changed.

portugal enacted decriminalization (not legalization) and rehabilitation
15+ years ago... they have had a dramatic drop of overdoses since then.

I'm good with all you said... Here's the thing, the point I'm making....

What I said is equal to saying Republicans want to be able to bring a "military style rifle" into Arby's.

Yet, nobody wanted to correct that guy, so I had to make an equal comparison for the liberals. It's obvious I'm out-numbered, but I'm okay with it. Most Republicans just keep quiet, go to work, and do their responsibilities and contributions to the society.

In my case you would be wrong. The last election we had a choice of Ebola or Plague. I chose to abstain. Boilersss called you out for an idiotic burden of proof logical fallacy argument and what do you follow it up with? An ad hominem attack.
I'm guessing you voted for Hillary. I'm also guessing you have no problem with her Uranium deal with the Russians that gifted her "foundation" 150 million. You only see what you want to see.

Holly shit! I always get myself in trouble with these threads.

Does anyone on hear know how a progressive tax system works? The left obviously does not.

Ok, to answer your inquiry - yes, I am on hear (sic), am middle to left of center and understand the concept of a progressive tax system.
Thank you for your inquiry. I appreciate being able to answer your question.

This thing will turn to fire before midnight. I don’t mind useing a little gas form time-to-time.

70 that time two time look correct?

Can you say for sure that it hasn't?
No but I know a lot more priests and other clergy members have raped and sexually assaulted more boys in bathrooms than any ‘transgendered’ individuals have. Shouldn’t we then be outlawing clergy members from using the bathrooms with small children present?

It’s an asinine law that at its core is bigoted and harkens back to a time of shame in American history. The only thing it does is pulls cops from doing the job we need them to do...instead any guy who looks remotely feminine and any girl who looks remotely masculine could have the cops called on them. Inevitably all it does is scares the general population in to thinking its a bigger problem than what it actually is while our politicians either get ants in their pants about it or use it as bait and switch.

The left does know what a "progressive" tax system is. If you make money they want to progressively increase taxes until they have it and you don't.
Don’t disagree with you here BUT a more fair and equitable way to tax should go as this:

A sales tax on all goods should be federally mandated as a federal sales tax while at the same time equating a set of ratios for income tax that creates roughly an equatable ‘standard of living’ idea...ie: taxing the millionaire and someone making less than 50k at the same rate is stupid. It’s much harder to live at the 50k level than the million dollar level. Instead, create a progressive but rationale income tax and the create a federal sales tax based on goods and services that lowers the tax rate more for the middle class while also providing some relief for higher income earners. Then, have a smaller federal luxury sales tax on things such as cars, boats, pools, etc. The USA is the largest consumer of goods in the world and allowing us to use our income more freely will generate more revenue for our government to help fund the things we truly need: infrastructure, education, defense spending (in that order).

Giving the middle class more of their income to spend will drive the economy, would it not? It would allow more people to become entrepreneurs, invest their money, and spend more on luxury goods.

I know I am generalizing and would love to have a more personal chat with someone on this idea (of which I am planning to do soon)...but what would be the issue with that other than states throwing a hissy fit about income taxes in places like Washington/Florida and places like California being pissy about then sales taxes...the same could be said for Indiana and its low sales tax of 7%. Am I just totally missing the ball here?

Look, here is the reality.

1) Possessing and distributing drugs are both illegal. Until they're not, expect consequences for having them.
2) The 2nd Amendment is a right. (And if it ever isn't, you'll never find my guns)
3) Transgender (and LGBT) are humans and deserve to be treated as such. Transgender people are not doing what they're doing to get their "thrills" in a bathroom.
4) Both political parties pander for votes. Both have issues.
5) Taxes suck. I'm OK with paying less than the next guy.

That is all...

The problem is not how or who is taxed at what rate. Fed, state and local governments take in plenty of money. It’s all about what is done with that money. If you want more, why? What did you do with what I already gave you? Applied it to something that gave you 0 return? Everyone would like to keep more of what they make. Granted, this is a deep subject. Do I want to take care of people that truly can’t take care of themselves? Yes. Do I want my tax $$ spent on buying votes. No

I've often wondered if there is a stigma or red badge of courage, if results of a survey are accurate? I ask that only because in the past there were various sex surveys in high school that were not accurate...and IU's original claim to fame was based on bogus data (Kinsey) Not saying they are wrong data, just wonder how accurate things are ...and wasn't even thinking of pdeophilia as I type...just surveys in general that deal in certain areas...

And how do you tell the difference between a transgender and a cross-dressing rapist in the women's restroom?

being unemployed, I will receive no more money. being overqualified and old, I will receive no job offers. Tel l me again how the new tax law is going to help me? Is Exxon going to lower the price of gas ? AH ha ha if yo u believe that one. We're going to open more coal mines ? HA ha ha again. health care costs are going to g o down? not for us old people who need to go to the hospital more often. and tell me why after every single state polled said its people are against the plan, their representatives voted for it anyway? I thought my representative represented the people ., not his party. I don't blame trump. I blame our representatives who no longer want to work together or listen or act on behalf of their constituents.

oh, was this discussion about trans genders? I gave about 80 a bad conduct discharge in the 80's simply because I was ordered to do so, and I had to carry out that order. . it looked bad that 9 of them were airman of the month for our base and one was airman of the year. I guess what they did on the job didn't matter. it's what they did in their private life and the fears of others in charge that counted most.

oh wait, my mind wandered again. this was about lew jack being a drug dealer but saying he had NO idea those drugs were in that bag in his car. and now before his trial begins, he's allowed to travel to Germany.

There is an old saying that "figures don't lie, but liars figure." Here in little old Muncie they are tearing down older homes and putting up new ones. Thing is, those new 3 bedroom houses aren't in the least bit unique and end up looking like a habitat house. All for close to $200k. Trust those in charge and the builders and subs, this is a good deal. By the way, in case you were wondering the lot vacant was worth no more than 5kand the resale value is maybe 60k, in a less than desire able neighborhood, This is happening all over America.
