If there has ever been a better college basketball team...I would like to see them. Yes...I did see the Alcindor teams and the Walton teams as well as the 76 Loosiers...but no college team has ever been this deep and talented.

Sooo Disagree.... Really the 82 North Carolina team with Jordan? Soo many teams better than this Kentucky team. Yes talented but College Basketball not near what it was in the heydays. How can yoiu say that? Because they are beating the crap outta mediocre West Virginia team? The SEC was not that great this year. I am not saying Kentucky is not good. But to say best ever? C'mon!

There is a lot more competition today...and parity. Back then...the NCAA tournament was smaller...and the champion did not have to win as many games to be champion. If Kentucky runs the table...40-0! No team has ever done that. The more games played...the more chance of losing. how many games did Jordan's team lose...it was a few.

Fine but no way are they the best ever. I actually hope they do go 40-0. Ya know why? Because IU fans will see another nail hammered into IU's legacy. LOL

Yes and back in BBall heydey you had NBA quality players playing 3-4 years.... Those teams would have beaten this Kentucky team. How many people think 76 IU or 72 Miami Dolphins were greatest ever? Yes you can say that but not reality.

In what reality do you live where you can determine which team is the best of all time, or which teams would have won from different eras? It's your opinion that this UK team isn't the best ever, but that doesn't mean opposing opinions are somehow less real. This isn't a testable exercise.

Haha... I thought it was high irony that the Kentucky fans were laughing at Cincinnati claiming it was a good thing they were close to home so they could make their meetings with their parole officers. Coming from one of the most notorious "corner cutters" in all of college sports, it's great advice, I guess.

Great teams from the past were more fundamentally solid than UK but physically and athletically would be at a tremendous disadvantage. I happened to watch a clip of the Boilers during the Mount years and was struck by just how skinny those kids were no matter whether a guard or center. They'd take a heck of a beating in 40 minutes against a physical team like UK.
As far as the 72 Dolphins go they were pretty good but lacked a 3 point shooter.

I don't think I'd use last night as a great example. Kentucky had multiple close calls to pretty average teams in the grand scale of things this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose.

West Virginia matched up horribly with them.

The UNLV team, Phi Slamma Jamma, UCLA teams, and the early 90s Duke teams were all better. Russel's San Francisco team would be right up there as well.

The whole game is watered down by national TV and scholarship limitations. It's made a great Kentucky team look historical, but I don't think they are on the same level as some of the teams above.

Did any college team have 7 first round NBA draft picks on its roster like Kentucky now has? No...that is why I feel this is the most deep...talented team ever in college basketball.

My vote for best college teams of all time are in no particular order:

UNLV from early 90's
Houston with Clyde Drexler, Olajuwan, etc.
The Flyin' Illini
Marion High School from '85-'87
