Life took me away from this board and heck, it took me 3 minutes to figure out how to start this post. This thread honestly has nothing new. I just want to gush for a minute.

I usually approach the Purdue season in all sports very skeptical. It just seems like when we are good, we are good, but missing that one special piece. That or we get an injury or something to screw it up. Then we had the run with C-boogie that was special, but ok not going there

This team is special. I came into the year thinking that we have alot of good players, but will that just mean we are a good team. Yeah we can be deep and not lose much when you sub, but if you want to be elite and beat the elite team, you need elite players at the top to compete with them. We need Ivey or Edey to step up and be special.

After the second game I was sold and putting in Purdue future bets of every kind all over the place.

The deepness of the team is amazing. We have 10 guys that can start. At least in my opinion. Any of our top 10 players in our starting line up, I'm like yep, they are a starter. Usually when we are good you have like 7. We have 10! Our second string could finish top 4 in the big ten.

Edey/Williams - enough has been said here and we all know.
Furst/Gillis - Really we have to pick one? Furst has been absolutely perfect for what we need. He is going to be a fan favorite and a great player for us. We have to choose between him and Gillis who was the glue for the team last year. Gillis has the guts and the hard nose that is Purdue basketball. We will not lose any production between the two

Sasha Ivey / Newman Morton. Not even sure how you want to divide these up by 2/3 as they all kind of blend together. Newman and Morton do not match what Ivey brings, but they are both 2nd year players that are looking better and better out there.

Thompson/Hunter - probably our weakest duo and that is not a slight. Both are great players. I had my eye on Hunter always saying when he is a junior/senior he is going to be our leader. the guy who is rock solid and can guide the team. Put some players around him and we'll be good. Well we did and Thompson has elevated his game, so Hunter is coming off the bench.

Hunter, Newman, Morton, Furst/Gillis (not sure who holds that spot), Williams - You tell me those are the 5 off the bench. That is a good starting 5 that would finish top half big ten.

Like i said, i know i'm adding nothing new. I just wanted to gush for a minute. This team is special. Sit back and enjoy the ride guys. We will have a bump or two in the road, but that is ok. Hopefully we learn from those bumps and it pays dividends in March.
