What would be the point spread of this hypothetical match-up?

2016 Purdue full strength vs. 2016 Alabama minus all 22 offensive and defensive starters

Assume the game takes place in Ross Ade on Sept 17 and Alabama takes just 1 week to prepare their 2nd stringers to start

Ok how about this one.. If Saban was forced into a permanent contract to coach Purdue, and Alabama was forced into a permanent contract with Hazell, would the programs ever equalize and how long would it take?

I'm thinking both teams would be 6-6 by year 3. Saban would eventually plateau at 9 wins if he did not retire or jump off a bridge first. Hazell would bottom out a 4-5 wins within 5 years.

Well, it seems nobody has answered your "what if", so I will. As a point spread is to get money on both sides and not be a prediction, I would have to know if the week before the game (as you say Alabama has only one week to prepare), Alabama lost all 22 starters because of that game? How many of those players left during the game and were ruled out after the game was over? If some of the replacements played in the previous week, did they have a significant impact by public standards aka play maker stats? Public perception is a key to a point spread. With all that said, I would venture to say Alabama would be favored anywhere from a pick 'em (obviously not favored at that point) to a three point favorite. Low level betters would be saying this is a lock of the week from one side to the other and the game would probably end up a push just to be a headache.
