would love to see the reaction on this board if painter would have recruited this kid. He's not rated and was all set to commit to Eastern Kentucky until Duke offered him yesterday.

Now I'm really interested to see if the rating evaluators raise him to a 5star since he committed to Duke.

The article I read said he is a 3* PG with an offer from UNLV and some others. Looks like from the other recruits/returning players Duke has he will be a back-up for them.

So does this mean they don't want Romeo and he'll sign with us ? I hate to say this, but I don't believe the original post and I don't believe this kid will sign with duke! I don't even believe duke offered him a scholarship

I also noticed this story came from his tweet, not an official announcement from Duke ! I still find it hard to believe duke would bother themselves with a lowly 3*! Maybe he's A walk on! I think i'd prefer Phinisee over him!

You can prefer Phinisee. That's not the point of the thread. The point was, imagine the meltdown on this board if Painter received a commitment from this kid.

Ya know...I have no idea the talent out there but it appears we have a coach trying to build a team. He understands not everyone can be a star and will always have a lot of star talent on the team. Immediately, the kid stands out for starting a break..he quickly has his head up and looking down the court...not afraid to guard someone and set up a couple of perimeter shooters. Doesn't appear to be a great athlete and actually went off the wrong foot once on a layup I thought I saw (only watched a couple of minutes and so I'm sure there is much more). Appears to stroke it,..but has some inconsistency in what appears to be a slight overstride (shooting at times sideways with his shooting foot a little more outfront than desired-Like Kendall did)..sometimes jumps forward and appears to have a little less lift and more thrust out of the slightly low shooting pocket, but at least in the "highlight" video he sure strokes it. I look for him to up the stardom since we can't have the star providers missing things.

Or if he had the rest of the recruits that Duke has/gets on a regular basis. Comparing PU and Duke in any recruiting discussion is crazy.

I would be ecstatic with a Purdue class comprised of a 3 star, 4 star, and two 5 stars. Especially following a class of another four 5 stars. Yes please.
