How many fouls did they need to call to get the win for the orange? Pure trash!

You never see calls against the coaches unless the refing is really one sided.

Just watch replays of Purdues missed passes. Syracuse interfered with almost every pass and didn’t get called. Pure unfair nonsense. Why do you think our coaches and players were so frustrated? WTF?
We didn't lose because of an inability to complete passes.

They were frustrated because they lack discipline on the field. And that has everything to do with the head coach. How many times have we seen players hit the pine when they make stupid penalties like Sullivan? He was in the game the next play. This is all on Brohm...

You could tell from the first couple of calls we were getting NO love from the Zebras. having said that, a missed extra point, a missed 2 point conversion and a missed field goal didn't do us any favors, either.

Exactly. Gifted them those 7 points. No discipline.
Take lead with under a minute left. Have to kick from own 10. No discipline.
Give up big plays. Bad coverage. Penalties. No discipline.
They kick off from your side of the field. No discipline.

Brohm didn’t throw the ball directly to the other team for a pick 6.
Lots to be desired from the staff today but this was on the players and the refs.

LMFAO. Did you even watch the mismanagement of the game in the first half? And a member of the "staff" was the one who was called for a 15 yard penalty after the extra point, which directly led to the loss. And last time I looked, coaches are responsible for how the players perform...

You Purdue fans cry so much. We had bad calls against us all day. Go let your fat wives make you happy.
I've been to Syracuse......don't throw no stones on that subject. You might have had one bad call if you know anything about football which i doubt.

It was Durham. We got another but it was only 10.

I know right? They were Big Ten officials too. If they were ACC refs, I might be able to understand that.

I recall a game a few years back when or DT makes a sack to seal a victory and then taunts the QB and starts celebrating and gets called for unsportsmanlike conduct. And we lost that game. It happened again the next year and the next year and the next year and and and.

yet Purdue fans keep blaming the refs! It’s time to start learning. You are Purdue students! The refs are going to call it! They always have called it. And yet Purdue players keep doing it every single year!

do we never learn?

Pretty sure we didn’t get flagged for celebration after scoring. Durham got flagged for saying something to someone who shoved him after an extra point.

Are you sure about that? I saw him on the sidelines with his helmet off.

It started after the TD catch. He was already jawing at the defender. I assume it was the same guy that baited him after the PAT.

You are probably correct. I am not sure if it was the same guy or not but there was jawing after the td too for sure. But when the flag was thrown after the xp the Syracuse player shoved Durham who turned and they went face to face jawing. No additional shoving or fighting. From the football I have seen throughout my life, I believe if this was penalized every time it happened there would be 50+ per game.

IMO this should be a no call and the ref just telling the players to get to their bench. I also believe (if Brohm told the truth in his post game comment) that the coach absolutely should seek clarification on the call because he might want to rip his own player a new one. I hate that both penalties were called but can find little fault in Durham or Brohm in this case.

Again this week, despite everything that happened all the missed kicks and the pick 6 we were winning with less than a minute to play and Purdue (a player and a coach) find a way to get into a kickoff situation I have never witnessed or even heard of. Unbelievable. This team has a lot of talent and there are plenty games left to have an amazing season. Boiler up my friends.

Let me start by saying Durham had no business getting that flag, but it did seem there was enough jawing and pushing by both sides to be offsetting penalties. That being said, the refs were not the reason Purdue lost this game.

You can say that but there were very very questionable calls to likes ive never seen. I told my son it looked like a fixed game in the first half with our first spot of football. Most blatant point fixing ive seen even penn st game in happy valley didnt seem this bad

This narrative needs to stop. So all Purdue losses are fixed now? Was AOC and the kicker in on it? It was a series of bad plays and a lack of control that lost this game.

Moved to Florida from Midwest in February. Couldn’t wait to see this game! Won’t make this mistake in the future. Passed up on a day on the water. Not again. No discipline, missed tackles, coach lost his head at ‘the most’ important time…REALLY coach? 52 seconds, you couldn’t wait til AFTER we win to go off on the officials? You blew it!

It ‘might’ have been fixed but the way we played ‘we’ were in on the fix 💩

The affect of gambling on sports is well known. How about the Black Sox. How about point shaving in basketball to influence the final score and possibly not the win. With being given points to make the betting even, point shaving also now must occur in football. Do you really think things have gotten better with more widespread betting and more money being bet on games? When the calls by refs are poor against one team at the begining of the game and you see the same happening at the end of the game to cause a different outcome, you have to suspect betting is why. How come some glaring penalties right in front of a ref or two are ignored, and then other minor ones normally never penalized are suddenly called against a team. It's easy for the refs to determine the outcome of a game if the scores are close, and they do. There's so much money involved in football and other sports that anyone involved in the game should be suspect, from the league itself down to the players, and certainly the refs.

Who was the officiating crew? I couldn’t find their names in the box score. If they are B1G refs, we are in trouble going forward. I thought the B1G basketball refs were bad. I don’t want to see these guys again but I think we will.

Agree. It didnt look that bad, but dont know what was said. To call two penalties on the same dead ball in THAT game situation was garbage imo. It wasnt pass interference...it wasnt holding. Tuck the flags and tell the players to stfu. Instead, give one team a huge advantage in the game ON the field.
Clock, mgmt as well as well as the running game, are still probs.
