Jeff Teague says on a podcast that he committted to Purdue, only for Purdue to tell him he didn't have an offer (lol).

I didn’t necessarily miss Scott Martin when he left but 1 year of him Vs 4 of Matt Howard is a big “what if” for the program in my mind!Would have been nice to have Matt Howard and Teague from the class as well.
Strange thing was Martin was the better player than Hummel in high school. Look how that ended up working out.I didn’t necessarily miss Scott Martin when he left but 1 year of him Vs 4 of Matt Howard is a big “what if” for the program in my mind!
Yea, as it turns out, some folks continue to develop and others not as much 🤷🏽♂️Strange thing was Martin was the better player than Hummel in high school. Look how that ended up working out.
Teague did have a scholarship offer at one point, then once Hummel, Moore and JJ were all committed, there was only one spot left and CMP told Martin and Howard the first one to commit gets it.It's possible. I don't know what our roster situation was, but we took 6 players that year, and it may've been first-one-to-commit gets the last scholarship between him and E'twuan.
Martin was the higher profile scorer, but he was never better than Robbie. Robbie paid attention to other aspects of the game and didn't care how much he scored.Strange thing was Martin was the better player than Hummel in high school. Look how that ended up working out.
Howard did not want to come to a really big program. He just didn't. Plus he loved Stevens.I didn’t necessarily miss Scott Martin when he left but 1 year of him Vs 4 of Matt Howard is a big “what if” for the program in my mind!
I watched a lot of Valparaiso games during their careers and Martin was the better player. I remember Hummels first game playing varsity. I went to Crown Point and watched the warm ups. I saw Hummel for the first time and he looked good warming up. He didn’t start and I wondered why. During the first quarter coach Bob Punter finally put him in. From that day on, Hummel was a fixture of Valparaiso basketball.Martin was the higher profile scorer, but he was never better than Robbie. Robbie paid attention to other aspects of the game and didn't care how much he scored.
As I recall the ratings were rather close between the two. However, Hummel played PG???? at his height and so it wasn't a surprise who would be the better college playerMartin was the higher profile scorer, but he was never better than Robbie. Hummel was not the point guard. As I recall the ratings were rather close between the two. However, Hummel played PG???? at his height and so it wasn't a surprise who would be the better college player
