They are chasing OTs and RBs.Do we have anymore room for more transfers or are expecting more attrition ourselves?
hopefully they are chasing ex Stanford RB, Austin jones. He would be a good fitThey are chasing OTs and RBs.
Premie board has those detailsReally? Who? What's your source?
Dienhard mentioned those 2 positionsReally? Who? What's your source?
And rightfully so...They are chasing OTs and RBs.
I guess i'm missing something. Even in a pass-happy offense like ours, you rely on an RB that can block and catch passes out of the backfield as a relief valve, and is then the featured back for all non-passing plays. That hits a lot of the boxes for most NFL teams, so why do we seem to struggle with getting next level RB's here? They are chasing OTs and RBs.
maybe that we have a rep for being a pass happy O. For the things you stated, that's why I'm hoping for us to go after that Austin Jones kid.I guess i'm missing something. What happened to the RB from Cal? His name has vanished from this board.
Rutger's OT Raiqwon O'Neal in portal, 6'4 305 3 star has 2 years left, had alot of good offers in H.S. including one from PurdueAnd rightfully so...
looking for depth, plus it's an injury prone positionChasing RB's tells me they don't have a lot of faith in Sampson. They know what they have in King and Dylan. They also have 2 freshmen coming in.

They want someone with speed. Sampson and King have similar skillsets.Chasing RB's tells me they don't have a lot of faith in Sampson. They know what they have in King and Dylan. They also have 2 freshmen coming in.
Imo this is simply a matter of numbers. I believe I saw an interview with one of the offensive coaches who said during the Hazel years they would have or recruit to have 12 rbs on the roster at all times. They wanted lots of carries and so they needed a deep room. This provided more opportunities to hit on under rated recruit. We now try to keep half of that number on the roster so we don’t have as much margin for error.I guess i'm missing something. Gotta keep the running backs number low due to the large number of offensive lineman on the roster.Imo this is simply a matter of numbers. Hazel imo wasn’t a better rb recruiter, it’s just easier to find 3 solid running backs if you have 12 on the roster each year.
Any of the three of them could have uncertainty due to an injury or something.. I think healthy, king Doerue is already a good player if he has decent blocking … if you want to see what he looks like with actual good blocking, go watch his long reception against Michigan stateChasing RB's tells me they don't have a lot of faith in Sampson. the kid from Cal who changed his mind was more of a bigger steady back but as you guys know I'm hoping for Austin Jones from Stanford. They want someone with speed. Sampson and King have similar skillsets.
I think they believe it you can upgrade from all three of those guys, you do it. The starting RB position is open for a playmaker.Chasing RB's tells me they don't have a lot of faith in Sampson. They know what they have in King and Dylan. They also have 2 freshmen coming in.
He's not a home run threat and doesn't have breakaway speed.Any of the three of them could have uncertainty due to an injury or something.. Not true. Brohm seems to want more of a burner who is really quick to the edge. They like Sampson James and it’s entirely possible he starts next season.Chasing RB's tells me they don't have a lot of faith in Sampson. They know what they have in King and Dylan. They also have 2 freshmen coming in.
Neither was jerod void. Neither was Ralph bolden if I remember correctly. At least post first all. DJ Knox was breakaway? He's not a home run threat and doesn't have breakaway speed.
Bolden was a home run hitter until the 2nd ACL tear.Neither was jerod void. Neither was Ralph bolden if I remember correctly. At least post first all. DJ Knox was breakaway?
No, I wouldn't consider Knox as breakaway although he did have 2 long TDs vs OSU.Neither was jerod void. Neither was Ralph bolden if I remember correctly. At least post first all. DJ Knox was breakaway?
Yeh, Joey Harris, could have been an NFL caliber back. You actually have to try to do poorly academically considering all the resources they have.Bolden was a home run hitter until the 2nd ACL tear.
Void ran behind one of the best Purdue OLine in the last 40 years. If Harris had been eligible, we win 10 or 11 games that year and play in the Rose Bowl. Stupid grades.
