Jamey Chadwell, HC Liberty U

He already gets a pretty hefty salary at Liberty if I'm not mistaken.
$4 million/yr. Be aware that we are now in the first year of our new TV contract and we can easily pay double that. The same goes for all the Big Ten & SEC schools. We'll be getting $75-100 million in TV and playoff money while Liberty gets zip.

Here's another example - Matt Campbell HC Iowa State, currently 7-0 and ranked #10. Schools in the Big-12 and ACC make about a third the TV money that the Big Ten and SEC are currently making. Now, ISU is a Purdue clone. Not much football tradition, Land Grant, big Ag, Engineering & vet school, sitting out in the middle of cornfields. Campbell recently got a RAISE to $4 million. We could easily double or triple that salary with the new TV contract.
  • After completing a 9-3 season in 2020, Campbell and Iowa State agreed on a new contract extension that would keep him with the school through the 2028 season. Under the terms of that contract, according to USA Today, Campbell earns an annual base salary of $4 million — including for the 2024 college football campaign.

You sound like you want to steal a coach from a school very much like Purdue.

We now have the money to do it with the Big Ten TV contract. The Big-12 schools are only getting chump change in TV revenue. Why shouldn't we pay big bucks to get someone like Matt Campbell?

I am resistant to the new system of buying away players and coaches, although I guess the latter isn't new.

Just because you have money doesn’t mean you should just give it away foolishly! Isn’t that what Purdue already did with Hazell and Walters and the extension they gave Brohm!

Spending a lot of money doesn’t equal success. Just ask Jerry jones!

Spending money on a good football coach is a wise investment. We tried penny-pinching with Hazell, Hope, Colletto, Akers and Burtnett. It doesn't work.

Didn’t hazel only get like 2 million something? Walters was a dumbass hire who had no business being considered for the job. Exetending a coach like brohm is a smart move.

Ah, the unconditional love and unending tolerance of the liberals. The word ‘evangelicals’ is now considered a slur by the far-left.
Buddy I do not give a shit about politics. The disdain for that "university" goes way beyond politics. Don't defend the cover up of multiple sexual assaults (to name just one of many things wrong with that place) because you vote a certain way.

Come on man, it's not like they want to imprison and "eliminate" those they disagree with. Or preach democracy while executing a palace coup multiple times.

Beggars can’t be choosers.

Who tried to imprison who? FYI, hush money is not a crime. If you dignify it with laywerspeak and call it a 'confidentiality agreement' then you have something that is commonly done in business every day.

And regarding the 'palace coup', what happened on Jan 6th was a complete mission failure of the Capitol Police. If someone tries to break into the Capitol Building, shoot them. Pull gun from holster and pull trigger Bang Bang Bang.

When someone tries to break into the White House, the Secret Service stops them. There have been 24 intruders who have jumped the WH fence since 1974. All were stopped. Eight were shot and one was so badly mauled by SS police dogs that the SS stopped using dogs. The others were gang tackled. Of the 24, 22 of them were arrested. The other two were not arrested because they were shot dead.

Hazell, Walters and Brohm were all bad hires. Are you trying to argue that a disloyal coach is better than an incompetent one?

Who cares how much money you have to spend. That's dictated by the market. It is what it is.

No chance he gets fired. They owe him 3 years worth of Walters buyout per year for 6 more. They can’t afford it.
FSU can definitely afford it. They're a top 10 all time program who was a potential NC contender this year. Not sure they'll tolerate a 1-11 season.
Don't be surprised if there's already some back room deals being discussed to get Coach Prime out of Colorado and back to FSU.

They have less TV money than we do and by a large stretch. They definitely do t make that up with ticket revenue either. They have a solid donor base but not one equipped to foot a 63$mil bill.

They can’t afford this and he’ll be back next year. 1000%

Brohm had no obligation of loyalty to Purdue. He was never was a graduate or associated with Purdue in any sort of way, therefore he couldn’t be “disloyal”. He could have left us soooo many times and didn’t. Tennessee(a far better job than Purdue) came calling after year one. He even turned down Louisville once for us too( his dream job). I’d say he was more than fair towards Purdue. My only gripe with him is that our recruiting towards the end of his tenure dropped off a bit once he knew he was leaving.

Florida State University's (FSU) football budget for the 2023 fiscal year was $76.5 million, which was the highest spending in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and second highest in the nation. This was a $21 million increase from the previous fiscal year.

Money is NOT a problem for FSU......

I’m no fan of the Falwell crime family or the Christian taliban, and found that place to be rather depressing when my son attended a high school baseball showcase there, but this guy might be worth a look , given what he’s been able to accomplish.

This myopic monument to rationalization belongs on the GD forum!

So they can spend their entire next years budget on a buyout? Hint- they can’t!
