Jackson To Make Decision Tomorrow....On His B-Day

I want JJJ to commit so we can have a better team and build a better program. Running a close second is the slight possibility that it might make you stfu.

Ah, not a chance. Painter continues to provide evidence of his very average abilities on a regular basis.
On the upside, should he pull this rabbit out of his hat it could lead to a landslide of recruiting success in rapid succession.
I very much want Purdue basketball to be big time.
Unfortunately CMP has not shown me much in the ability department to give me hope.
Let us see how this unfolds on the morrow.

Painter couldn't of done much more. If we don't get him I know the negatives will jump off of a ledge, but this is what they wanted. They wanted Painter to go after the studs so the drama that unfolds after is the result
Tough to get them if you don't try at all, I like the effort at least.
Staff just then goes with plan b (which was learned way back with Zeller).

If he goes msu, that could make back to back top 5 classes?

If he goes green, he will get to learn how to carry a concealed firearm into a club, smoke a little junk, and beat his girl friend every Friday. He doesn't have those skills now, I suspect, but you Sparturds will "learn him good".

If he picks Purdue, are you going to take all this back? You're talking about a kid still in high school that may or may commit to Purdue. Have some dignity, for his sake and yours. This is some of the worst pre-emptive jadedness I've ever seen.

Don't think it's a swipe at JJJ so much as it has just become what the MSU program has been turning out as of late.

Jaren Jackson will be a great Spartan. I'm not an MSU fan but I jumped on here to read all the butthurt and sadness and I'm loving it. Keep up the good work

Jackson doesn't have a criminal record: doesn't that disqualify him from the MSU basketball program?

You must have an exciting life for this to bring you enjoyment. My guess is that you probably are a Spartan fan but are afraid to admit it.

Dipstick, this was a not-so-subtle slap at MSU and not the kid.

Don't forget the rape. It seems that the Spartans have a 50/50 shot of maling the league or being arrested on sexual assault. I guess in the case of Cleaves, it was both (although he only lasted in the league for a hot minute).

It is not a question of what was done...or effort put forth...or time committed...it is simply a matter of whether Painter/Purdue is successful in gaining his commitment or not...as far as "what they wanted", THAT is not what they want(ed), they want(ed) Painter to go after studs and succeed in gaining their commitment, and thus far, he has unfortunately not been able to...maybe that changes tomorrow, but I don't think anyone is going to hold their breath.

Wait Painter hasn't successfully landed a stud? Haas, Biggie, CE and VE all disagree with you. Some of you really have no clue.

I just find it weird that people think he should be able to snap his fingers and convince any recruit he wants to come to Purdue as if there are no factors outside of the control of the coach. He could sit down and give a recruit an air-tight case on why Purdue makes the most sense for them from a basketball perspective but that recruit still has free will and can choose to go anywhere for a number of reasons.

I'd love for us to get JJJ today but if not it's certainly not the end of the Purdue basketball. Some will write off the next 3 seasons if he chooses somewhere else which I find absurd because we're not done with recruiting and recruiting is only step one anyway. We'll see. At this point I hope to be cheering for Jackson at Purdue but if not there will be someone else.

He is picking MSU, my source was wrong. What a POS letting MSU swoop in at the last minute over Purdue who has recruited him for a VERY long time

Hearing that he is announcing soon to MSU. And he's not a POS, he chose what he thinks is the best fit for him.

There is still a lot of recruiting yet to go. Let's not jump of the ledge or drag players that don't pick us through the mud.

I think he means stud as in 5 stars, like CS.
This is the kind of thing that really starts some of the arguments here I believe.

As a pu fan, i love VE and think he is a stud on the team.
But outsider/non-pu fans may not see him as a stud yet - since he was a rivals and scout 3 star, not on freshmen big ten team (like CS and KS), honorable mention big ten as sophomore.

So thus far, others may not see a 'stud'.
But he is certainly capable of projecting and continuing into one as a first team all big ten selection, drafted NBA player, etc.
That may turn out to be more of an argument/example for the staffs player development success.
