I love the way TwinDegrees copies (Note: doesn't link) this article as if it's from the LA Times. Hint:
IT'S NOT.
Only the photo was - it was grabbed by a "reporter" from a dark web "news" site called The Western Journal. The Western Journal is founded by Floyd Brown, the guy behind the original Willie Horton ads:
Floyd and Patrick Brown's Conservative Tribune and Western Journalism receive more combined views than almost any adult entertainment site in the U.S. besides PornHub.

Needless to say, The Western Journal is an unsourced, highly biased non-news disinformation site. I'll give you one link to that effect, but there are innumerable similar links:
QUESTIONABLE SOURCE A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no
mediabiasfactcheck.com
The alleged "reporter" Joe Sanders has a bio on the Western Journal site and is otherwise a ghost on the internet. Who knows if he's a real person.
Yet very old, gullible people like TwinDegrees and his kind on this site, people that ostensibly want to do the right thing, naively believe that this misinformation has some semblance of truth. They believe it over sworn testimony from subject matter experts, from dedicated public servants, from law enforcement and national security non-partisans. They believe it because the people that are good at disinformation know how to appeal to them, how to throw in nuggets of real amongst the pile of manure, and because they have been mind-f'd by Trump and his like for about ten years now.
So while it's understandable that naïve people believe what they want to believe, it's incredibly awful, and incredibly dangerous.
