IU's Next BB Coach is

Eh... Not sure I put that on him. 9-3 to start the season? Pete Gaudet actually went 4-15.... I don't know. That's an odd one. Duke probably makes the tourney with K on the sideline. Clearly not with Pete.
There was a tournament, and neither he or his team were there. Streak over.

Holding up physically and mentally, every day, every year, is part of the impressive nature of the streak. And I CANNOT stand Izzo.

Well yes but I don't remember Izzo ever having to go through back surgery prior to a season. K almost resigned fully that season.

Did I say 20? Thought it was 15. I'll keep it there either way. Higher chances on May, and I'll absolutely take that.
Yup
Problem is, Cream was fired and Buckner wanted Woodson hired then. Glass went behind everyone's back and hired Archie, gave him 4 years to do nothing. Then it was Stevens or Woodson. And so Woodson gets 4 because Archie got 4.

I can 1000% guarantee Stevens will be offered again. Will he take it? 20% chance. I'd like Beard but I don't think the admin will allow it. Honestly could go get a cardboard cutout of Knight and do better than Woody. McDermott and Dana could have done pretty good at IU I think. Or John Beilein(who also could have had the job over Sampson but the AD wanted a black coach... Which Sampson isn't black either but the AD was as stupid as could be). The administration has screwed the program for 25 nows. They should have let Mike Davis go after his interim year and hired Pitino.

A tradition unlike any other, friends. IU getting shot down by Brad Stevens.
🤣👍🤣👍🤣

Well put— watching the stupids repeatedly salivate over this manifest impossibility IS now a tradition.

Two Peanuts analogies come to mind: Think of Lucy pulling away the football, and Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin….

Everyone knows how these three beloved traditions play out!

I love your enthusiasm, but don't be homer. I love CMP, but until Izzo is gone. He's the pinnacle of coaching in the B1G.

Izzo:
726-299 overall record
8 FF's
10 B1G Champs
1 NC
26 consecutive tournaments
CMP:
466-209 overall record
1 FF
5 B1G Champs
0 NC
In the last 5 years Matt is the BEST coach by far, not close, not saying over their career.

Here’s Charlie Brown portraying the IU fanbase after their last few coach hires were dropped into their bag:

I’m not even sure May is likely at this point.
Feels a little like Brohm turning down his Alma Mater the first time they made a run at him. He felt like he needed to see out the project he had started. Not a “forever no”, just a “not right now”.

Though I’ll stlll say May seems to not have 100% closed the door. And why should he? He can at minimum get a nice raise out of Meatchicken.

IU basketball reminds me of that prom queen in high school you see at the 25 year reunion. Back in High school she was the most popular and one of the hottest girls in school. At the 25 year reunion she’s unrecognizable - put on a ton of weight, still lives in the same town but in a trailer park now and has a meth habit. Nobody wants to date her anymore but she’s trying to remind you how great she was in HS.

Gregg Doyel, who knows nothing, is predicting Cronin. Really good coach, from Ohio, but his buyout is $10 million on April 1. ($16 million before then)
Good coach for sure. Does he have the same success in the B1G? I always thought he would come back and take the OSU job. He could lock up Ohio recruiting.

If he believes he's on the hot seat at UCLA every year. I wonder how hot it would be at IU.

I’m going to bring up Brad Brownell again. Watching Clemson dominating again today against FSU! IN boy, good coach. Gets the most out of his players and they compete every time they are on the court… Wait all that rules him out automatically… nothing to see here… move along

Played with Chaney too…IU fan base wouldn’t like it cuz it’s not a “big splash”

The scary thing right now is that the ACC sucks soooooo much right now. I never imagined seeing a power conference be so pitiful and embarrassing.

Not really an IU fan so never paid attention to how it was spelled and not old enough to really remember him play. But I’ll make sure to spell the last name of a player from your favorite college team correctly!
Well he was 5-3 against Purdue. Though y'all did hold him 2ppg under his career average.

Calbert Cheaney was a badass! 3 time all American and remains the all time leading scorer in the B1G. Led the Hoosiers to a FF in ‘92, NPOY in ‘93 and yup that was a long time ago.
I missed him by a few months unfortunately but have watched plenty of replays. Was practically unstoppable inside 16 feet.

I wanted to catch him before the game at Mackey. I had a story to tell him that concerned him in which he would be led to his high school coach when he was a soph (just after Christmas) and the summer before his senior year. I had a question about his high school coach shooting the basketball as he used to stand on stairs O/Bs and make shots. I spent a lot of nights up years ago after his (Gerald) games with a brother-in-law and Gerald talking about his team. ;)
