iu week. First off.......

Watched indiana play today. Mgbako is very lazy and slow to get back. How bout we have Heide and Furst get a bunch of alley oops in transition? Either will get an easy basket or ballo will have to foul.
Been saying Mgbako was slow since beginning of year and IU fans told me he was a lotto pick!

Reading the IU board is fun today. They are so delusional. They haven’t hired a good coach since what, 1970 something? Yet, they all guarantee that the NEXT coach is going to put both IU and Purdue back in their rightful place.

Hilariously ignorant.

@DwaynePurvis00 - let’s huddle up, okay?

Repeat after me: we aren’t talking about IU unless it’s beating them. We don’t care who they’ll throw a bag of cash to coach their team. We don’t care about IU unless it is how bad we are beating them.

Ok: hands in the middle.

He might be. Big, athletic, excellent shooter, creates his own shots. But you’re right he looks slow and just does not seem engaged.
Right coach and system, he could probably do well. He should be playing the 4. A team that has better spacing and he's able to be a catch and shoot guy and a team with a good enough defense to hide him.

Never know how rivalry games turn out. I’ll go less, say -8.5.
Well, I'm not as convinced this will be an easy game at all. IU has spent millions to buy the best team they could and although most their players have to have the ball in their hands to be involved in an offense. I hope I'm wrong and do believe that Purdue is the better team and would win the series, but this isn't a series and as you imply rivalry games don't always go the way they would if played several times over.

As one that has casually watched them over the last few years, I think Lear is a positive for them. I didn't know he was 6'5", but as far back as three years ago I would see him as one of the more cerebral players on the team. Had he went to Purdue he definitely would have seen more minutes over his career. This is not to say he would have been great, just that Matt values cerebral play. Then you add Goode who does stretch the floor and can get hot...and so you just can't pack it in at every location. One of my concerns as it was last year, is the screen on the wing where Purdue must get into the guy early (or go under) so the Purdue defender is NOT trailing going over the top of the screen with IU curling into the lane...with say a Galloway and his height to lay in in or lob it. If Purdue is shooting well, no problems...but if not AND if Purdue cannot turn them over for whatever reason...this can be a very close game and for many of their fans justify the millions spent on their mercenaries to beat PUrdue.

He just can’t guard anyone though. He’s not quick enough to guard a 3 and he’s not strong enough/physical enough to guard a 4

Lol.. they've always been delusional.. It honestly won't matter who they hire, I'm pretty confident Painter will own them too. He's hitting his stride as a coach/recruiter right now.

Okay. That's your opinion.
Why would he even want that job? No one can reasonably explain this. He doesn't need the money or experience. Your fan base has delusional expectations and will want to hang him at the first sign of not winning a natty or losing to Purdue. He doesn't have a staff. Bloomington is not the nicest place to live. He has one of the most cushcush jobs on the planet right now! Less than 1 percent chance.

That's correct. It's also an opinion shared by the vast majority of people who know the situation and aren't IU fans. Even if he wanted to get back into coaching and back to the Midwest, he'd have many, many better options than IU. It's not impossible but the odds are very, very slim.
In the Midwest? No. If the UNC job opened up... Then yes.

UNC for sure. Kansas and Michigan State are better jobs than IU. There's an argument to be made for UM and OSU over IU, where football $ gets you all the support you need with much less of the nonsense.

Despite what a lot of Purdue fans would like to believe, IU is still a very good job, it's just a notch below the top tier.

Feel like that is about right. I know we have looked good against them the last 2 and won by double digits, but it is a rivalry. Both teams coming off extra rest.

I expect a battle and fight from Leal, Galloway and Goode. Those are Indiana born kids and this is one of the last shots at us.
