Our old friend Arc (who no longer posts here to my knowledge) would remind us from time to time that he was banned for something he posted on THIS site......became sort of a crusade......alas, ending in futility.

If anyone posted this on the IU board, they would get banned immediately on that board.
Also, most of the main posters on here could not post on the IU board, because we have been banned on there for years.

They fired their coach and hired one who missed the tourney and never win a game in the tourney. how far the hoosiers have fallen from crean.
Purdue fans keep saying "has never won a tourney game" as if that means something.
to those that don't know, other teams this year have scored in a similar fashion at the rim when Purdue defended that way already this year. Had it not been defended before, Houston wouldn't have done what a couple of teams did this year. It was a chance Purdue didn't need to take with 2 seconds on the clock. Purdue got cute when they played 2-3 zone with AJ in the middle except on out of bounds and North Florida hits a high school O/Bs play and beats Purdue. Lot of hype when the reality was it was a poor call on D. I understand it and works fine when the offensive player comes strong side as that allows Braden to take him and usually it was Fletcher that ended up on the trigger man, but you can't switch back on the triggerman if the cut is weakside...happened to Purdue earlier in the season...

Painter has forgotten more basketball than I'll ever know, but this is one of those times where Purdue being predictable really hits them with an experienced squad and coach. Sampson and Houston were ready for it.
Sometimes I'd love to see them change it up somewhere - so maybe even if Smith flashes to pick-up Cryer, they do something else different that they haven't shown.....Kaufman-Renn at a minimum had to deny the inbound.......agree though, with under three seconds....overly risky in a tie game to me, but hindsight is also 20/20 - lack of equal paint presence doesn't help either.....plus, Purdue had no time-outs as well.

I'm thinking they had time during the review to stay with their man or even substitute a player. People would hate this, but I would have considered Berg on the triggerman, Trey on the big, Caleb (if the other big was in there...drawing a blank) possibly on a perimeter player, Braden and CJ. I would use berg to prevent a lob at the rim and try to force the pass wide which also allows more time to recover for Purdue due to Berg size. I think Caleb can stay with a perimeter player for a second or two. Just wanted anything outside the rim. Before it happened, I told Kim I hope Purdue does NOT do what they did...and she got to hear me get really loud with some choice words that I usually hold. Kids played so hard...and as we see in the next game Purdue "could" have got to the final four....again!The defense Purdue used is fine on the strong side as what has happened was that Braden took the guy coming for the outlet and fletcher took Bradens man since it was fletcher's man that was coming to that ball usually. However, when on the other side there is nobody to take braden's place. I think two teams have scored on Purdue underneath like we saw. You just get very vulnerable when you leave a person open at the rim. It made me sick knowing how Purdue continued to fight.
I do think Myles has take a step offensively in that in the tourney he has shown a willingness to get in the lane for a jumper and with the portal additions I hope Purdue gets it all next year. Cam played better as well.

I’ve posted there a couple of times, mostly asking about pizza and places to stay when visiting. They have a nice bbr near campus with great rooms, an awesome breakfast and reasonable prices.
No one is pretending they don't care about the NCAA tourney, but previous NCAA tourney success, especially when the vast majority of that coaching experience was at a mid major, means nothing.

Well when speculation runs rampant about coaches like Stevens, Wright, Bennett, and Donovan and then you hire a guy like DeVries you can kind of see why people would roll their eyes when fans start to boast about it. Not that he can't be good, but certainly not a coach from their A list.
Personally I think they will regret not getting McCollum. That would've been my pick if I were running things.
