They might as well leave the bucket in Bloomington and start guessing where their bowl game will be... no way we will beat them.

It sucks it has come to this.

I'm wondering if there will be 20,000 at RA for the game. If so at least 15,000 will be from IU.

This is the more appropriate bucket.
This poor coed had to be helped after watching Purdue football.

While I'd like to be playing for a bowl birth, they aren't in much better shape than us. They've underachieved 3 years in a row now, and will be bowling built on a resume of barely getting by. They will be playing football while we are in our offseason, but IU's season has been anything but a success.

Let's face it, 500 is a good year for IU football as is winning the bucket. Anything past that is over the top for their football program. On the other hand, 500 ball and winning the bucket game is more routine for Purdue and below expectations until the Hazell era came along.

IU is 3 plays from being 8-3. Purdue is three years from winning 3 games.

I will be there!!! I bet I will have no trouble getting field level seats 15 minutes before game time either! Might as well get a good look at the car crash. I paid damn good money for those student tickets. Might as well use them and get those juicy loyalty points for the Bball game lotteries.

You've been to ONE bowl game in 20 years. You're the worst D1 program in the history of college football. Shall I continue @iubaseball?

Isn't Purdue around #11 in the current Big Ten? You are very, very close to being in the pot calling the kettle black territory.

I think many of you are starting to realize that the Tiller era was the exception and not the norm.

Replace "Tiller" with "Knight" and you might be on to something.

Even Danny Hope coached Purdue to two Bowl games.Bill Mallory is the ONLY Hoosier coach that ever did that.

Not really. We're very close to Maryland and Iowa in all-time winning percentage. You're very clearly in the cellar.

Not disagreeing with that statement. But, I do not think there is any doubt that we are getting better step by step. We have a much better staff, we are recruiting and getting much better talent as a whole, we have made a much better financial involvement for football, and we are playing a lot better football.

You have done better but you're still in the East division where it'll always be hard to become bowl eligible unless you load up with cupcake non-conference teams like you did this year. It'll be much easier for Purdue to rise in the West since we don't have to worry about the Ohio States, Michigans, Michigan States, and Penn States.

I'm not even going to watch. It'll just ruin my day. If we happen to pull the upset (holy crap....did I just say it'll be an 'upset' if we beat iu!), I'll watch a replay.
But I'd rather go to the dentist or something.

Purdue doesn't seem to worry enough about the Illinoises.

Boiler yes the first two games were cupcakes but we did play a very good Western Kentucky team who is having another great season and we did play an ACC team on the road. Also, I would expect a realignment soon since Michigan is back to being good again because the Big Ten will want that Michigan Ohio State championship game to be possible every year.

I thought the prevailing sentiment was not to have Michigan and Ohio State in opposite divisions because they didn't like the possibility of playing back-to-back games or moving the annual regular season game earlier in the season. And I don't think there would be an arrangement where they wouldn't play during the regular season. Currently, the Big Ten divisions are unbalanced, somewhat like the Big XII was before it realigned.

Correct. UM and OSU will always be in the same division. And I really don't think TPTB care about the unbalance. Selling a TV schedule with guaranteed games between UM/OSU/MSU/PSU has to be a bonus.

Realignment? Right.... Not going to happen anytime soon, UNLESS the BIG adds teams to the conference.

So, Tiller had an undefeated season, won three national championships, won 11 Big Ten titles, and has the second most wins in college football history? Tiller's protege has the most wins in college football history? Tiller didn't even reach Barry Alvarez or Hayden Fry territory, let alone Woody Hayes territory.

Purdue has two other HOF football coaches in its history that won National Championships? Purdue has the third most national championships in college football?

Well, maybe Tiller was an exceptional coach. The norm for IU has been to lose since 1947,as that was Bo McMillans last year, and no coach has left Bloomington with a winning career record since then.

Since 1947, 3 of 11 Purdue coaches have had winning records: the pride of the Purdue athletic department right here. Once again, you are dangerously close to pot calling the kettle black territory and sound like the IU fans that PU fans accuse of celebrating dusty banners, the difference being this: your football program hasn't come close to flying as high as IU's basketball program has, nor does it have the tradition and support to make a rebound as feasible.

If you want to argue that you have the top bunk in the Big Ten football cellar, be my guest.

Why do IU fans always bring basketball into a football discussion?I didnt say anything about basketball.

"Replace 'Tiller' with 'Knight' and you might be on to something." - previous poster

I find the irony of PU fans lauding their past "achievements" in football while accusing IU fans of celebrating "dusty banners" in basketball interesting, especially since PU football during the time period stated isn't close to being what IU basketball has been and does not have the same infrastructure to rebound.

So IU is 1-6 in the B1G, has a chance to be bowl eligible due to an easy non-conference schedule, and fans think they're making strides? Yikes.

Dusty banners don't matter (even IU is still ranked #3 all time in NC's), but having only 3 of 11 head coaches since 1947 with winning records does: got it.
