Enough Purdue fans to turn that into Ross Ade South for a day?

Should only take 1000 loud Purdue fans to overcome the IU fans in the stands.

C'mon man - get real. 1,000 IU fans...really? There will be at least ten times that many.

Now, if we can manage to beat Maryland, and that's a big if, we may have a respectable number of fans show up (at least for the first half).

No. I refuse to pay $50 a seat to sit in an empty stadium. I will pay them for parking, l will pay them for overpriced popcorn, I will not pay three times market value for tickets. If they come down in price l will buy then. The arrogance of that AD is astounding. It is amazing they would rather have an empty stadium than a stadium full of fans ( while many of them opposing fans) buying concessions. We will see what the next two weeks bring

Buy from stubhub or some similar site, not directly from IU.

If IU is 4-7 at the time of the Bucket, there will be plenty of cheap tickets

Considering Wisconsin game first because I hate driving down to Gloomington

After the dismantling the week before the Bucket game in Ann Arbor by the Fighting Hardblows the Loosiers should have lots of cheap seats to choose from.

I agree, if IU comes into the bucket with bowl eligibility on the line it will turn out a good crowd of supporters

Stubhub and Vivid are showing seats well above $50 still. Amazing how expensive it is to go to games there considering their awful fan base. Very poor money and marketing management by the AD.

It’s been a long time since I’ve gone to a football game down there (‘09, I think). Considering the puny crowds they get, the traffic in and out of there is atrocious (has it gotten better?) and I simply don’t find it an appealing place to go. The atmosphere is very stale and boring, even for the Bucket Game.

I’ll likely go this year, but will wait for the week of the game to make a firm commitment. A crappy weather forecast or highly undesirable kickoff time could impact my decision.

If I do go, I’ll most certainly NOT pay $70 for tickets. LOL. Are they serious?!?! I’ll go to the secondary market or scalp on game day and pay, at most, 50% of face value. If they lose to Maryland and don’t have a shot at bowl eligibility that day (losing to Michigan is a foregone conclusion), they won’t have more than about the 15k of die-hards in attendance.

$54 was the cheapest I saw on stubhub. Some of their fans complain that’s too much for the product on the field.

Everyone keeps claiming they will be cheap on the secondary market but I have not found that to be the case any time I tried to go to the game there. I have gone to Bloomington on game day at least 3 times and never set foot in the stadium. I dont claim to fully understand the secondary ticket market, but if the school chooses to not sell the unsold tickets for less than $50, then you rely on season ticket holders to sell theirs less than face. It is a weird way of creating a demand for seats to support an unreasonable ticket price even if it means leaving 15k tickets unsold.
That is the downside to our aggressive "fill the seats" initiative. You can buy a season seat in the north end zone for $120. The face on the osu game alone is $50. Osu fans or other brokers buy the season, sell the big games for a premium, then dump the rest on the open market. It was especially noticable a few years back when we had Notre shame and osu at home. Hundreds of tickets for that year's Illinois game were on StubHub for $1.

We’ll see what things look like in a couple weeks, but between basketball season having started, ND football being in CFP contention, and the Bucket Game being on Thanksgiving weekend, I think all but the diehard fans have bailed on IU football and turned their attention elsewhere.

Of course, those casual fans need to have tickets in their possession before they can appear on the secondary market, so you’ve got a point there. We’ll see. If I opt to go, I’ll still be very comfortable showing up on game day without tickets in hand.

Got our 5 tickets back in June, can't wait to watch the Boilermakers keep the Bucket!

IU won’t beat Maryland.

Might head down to the place where football dies with another couple who are IU alums. Will for sure be at the Wisky game.
