Iu has the worst defense in the big ten. It is ridiculous. Crean is just an idiot. Shouldn't even be a contest this year between us and them if we play the way we are capable of through our bigs. BTFU

In fairness to ESPN though, outside of the IU debacle, most of the other games were pretty entertaining and many went to overtime. It was quite frankly an excellent tournament of back and forth action which had everything we wanted. 1) Purdue Victory 2) Big Ten Victory 3) IU defeat. There's no doubt IU was overhyped this year, but it just goes to show how the Big Ten/ACC Challenge scheduling is disappointing. The do match-ups more so based on names than anything.

I was actually impressed by iu for the first 10 minutes against Duke, I think they have about a 6 pt lead at the 8 minute mark? They were getting to the rack and Duke was losing shooters on iu's dribble/drive/kickouts. Once Krsyz made the adjustments, iu was done though.
That Ingram kid for D was really impressive, Reminded me a little of Big Dog with his size, and inside/outside game. Sweet stroke and then on his drive, he was at the rim after about 2 steps.
he got really hot, If you recorded it...check out his very low shooting pocket. The ball was cocked about shoulder high instead of slightly over the head effectively removing the advantage of his height against a taller defender. They are just past the tipping point. No rational thought is necessary they just want Crean gone.I went to Peegs and read all this stuff about how bad IU looked in the Duke game, and I wonder which game I watched. I saw a 6’9” guard from Duke get red hot, and hit almost every shot he took. Hell, IU shot something like 50% and still couldn’t stay with Duke.
Most rational people would have said that IU could beat Duke, at Duke, only if IU’s shooters got hot, and Duke was cold, right? Well IU was hot, but so was Duke. Game over. Regardless of coaching differences, Duke had much more talent than IU. Why is there such outrage about this outcome? How do you defend a red-hot 6’9” guard, plus a big front line with the kids on IU's team? No amount of coaching would have changed this outcome. Crean had to pick his poison and swallow.
Most of you know I am no Crean fan, but I think some of the IU fans are taking positions way out there. This year’s IU team has a paper thin front line, and little depth at most positions when you look at the talent level on the bench. Playing at Duke is worth 6-10 points right off the top. The game was lost at a steady rate of about 10 points per half. Duke was just more talented, especially playing at their place, and they exerted that dominance. I find the shock and awe on Peegs a bit over the top.

mathboy, I have no problem with your post except for your apparent surprise of the reaction of IU fans. Your analysis is fundamentally correct.I went to Peegs and read all this stuff about how bad IU looked in the Duke game, and I wonder which game I watched. It wasn't just the fact that Duke was hitting their shots. It was that those shots were rarely contested, and when they did miss, the IU players were way out of position to have a chance at rebounding. Duke had more offensive rebounds than IU had defensive rebounds.I went to Peegs and read all this stuff about how bad IU looked in the Duke game, and I wonder which game I watched. I suspect there is some truth to this. It is a bit sad when you think about it.mathboy, I have no problem with your post except for your apparent surprise of the reaction of IU fans. Your analysis is fundamentally correct.
However, what you have forgotten is that IU fans have unrealistic expectations. Last night, those expectations were shattered. They view the team as "elite" and a "blueblood." That is not the case. Reality is unpleasant and they are acting out.
I think there is quite a separation between the two teams in recruiting. IU celebrates a single 5-star recruit per year, where as Duke gets 3-4 5-star recruits every year. Duke gets the #1 or #2 kid, while IU gets a single #10-#20 kid. It means that the occasional high school star that never gets it at Duke will quickly be buried. It also means that IU's star power is paper thin while Duke will have guys sitting on the ben that would start at most other schools.I don't know, don't care to look it up, but it sure seems as if IU/Crean recruit at nearly the same level as Duke. How many get booted or fail to develop is another story.

Good to see ya bend. House things there in the gateway to Niles?
It's outstanding, particularly because I'm about three months form leaving this place in my rear view mirror. Heading to Southwest Utah (Washington city). Hope all is well with you.Good to see ya bend. House things there in the gateway to Niles?

Utah! It's a beautiful state. Much different than Indiana. You may miss the seasons the most. And maybe the complete lack of topography. It's outstanding, particularly because I'm about three months form leaving this place in my rear view mirror. Heading to Southwest Utah (Washington city). The story's in Utah, Frank. You've seen pictures.Utah! It's a beautiful state. Much different than Indiana. You may miss the seasons the most. And maybe the complete lack of topography.
Tickets for good seats $200/each. May need to wait a little bit..Tickets for that game should be easily attainable.
Be nice to fill it up with old gold and black.
as opposed to purdue'sI'm actually concerned Crean's dog and pony show are coming to an end in B-Town. Remember, he was the best they could get after the Sampson dumpster fire.
I hope he's there 15 more years, I see his seat really starting to get warm this year especially if they miss the tournament, or flame out in the first round like every year.
I loved it because the hope is its one step closer to getting Crean outta here.My favorite part of the game that I am sure made the IU fans weep, was when they started to get blown out in the second half. Dickie V said they were going to have to face Purdue this season and that Purdue was a legit team.
I bet a whole bunch of TV's god shut off at that moment.
