You really don't understand the law and the constitution do you? Abortion was never codified into law. There is no federal abortion law and there wasn't 50 years ago. That's the issue that you and all of the abortion rights activists don't seem to get.

One was not "codified" into law for 50 years. It was only law because of poorly constructed Supreme Court decision. If the Democrats had passed legislation regarding legal abortion when they had a majority it would have been "codified". The Democrats do not like to pass controversial laws because it eliminates being able to get reelected by creating conflict. Witness the lack of any real attempt to address immigration law.
