Any guesses as to what tickets will be before the game? For avg 400 level seats

Willing to drive up for the game, I don't want to get up there and pay stub hub Esque prices.

Why are so few available online? Kind of deters people to making the trip.

I've always had good luck showing up on the second day and getting tickets (much cheaper than online). This arena is showing so few seats available online that it gives me pause. Also, the price increase from yesterday until now raises concern, but someone posted on one of the other threads already, that there are plenty on the street available at lower prices.

A lot of people bought the whole strip of tickets for Milwaukee (all 3 sessions). ISU fans I talked to were taking in all 6 games. Except for Minn, the favorites all won and all the teams are close to Milwaukee. Even Butler had a good number of fans at the BC Thursday. And Iowa State brought a lot fans.

I think this is the real reason the top seeds get geographical preference. Drives up demand and more money made by everyone involved. Parking by the BC was $50 to $100 and out of towners don't know where else to park.

Thanks for the advice.

I think a lot of tickets are paper tickets, which makes it harder to sell quickly online.

There were never a lot of tickets online - so with Purdue/IA State winning, the prices went up - particularly after Iowa State won.

The question is obviously how many people would be doing exactly what you're doing - going and planning to get tickets off the street. If scalpers see a lot of demand, then they'll jack prices too. I can't speak to the quantity of tickets available on the street - and first round games can be much different than second round. Also, keep in mind you can wait until the first game starts, when scalpers in theory should be getting more anxious to make a deal. That being said, it depends how many are available.

I mean, worst case is you can go to the Purdue bar and watch and hopefully celebrate after the game!

Yep. You're right. Which bar is the designated Purdue bar?

It really shouldn't be this hard.

Staff from the Purdue Alumni Association and John Purdue Club will be at the Brass Alley, across from the BMO Harris Bradley Center, to greet you starting at 4:00 p.m. central time. Purdue Pete, the Spirit Squad, and the Pep Band will stop by to get everyone pumped up for the game.

Two days ago there were over 1100 tickets listed for session 3 on StubHub, with the "get in" price under $100. Now there are less than 100 and that get in price at nearly $300. If ISU had lost, tickets would be pentiful and prices reasonable, but they won and their fans are wiling to pay high prices to see them play. If you drive up looking for tix tomorrow, be prepared to pay up. I think most of the tix have settled into hands that aren't looking to resell. Just my opinion, but that seems to be what the data is telling you. And, I'm a Boiler in Iowa, so I have a decent read on the local ISU fans and how they support their teams. Again, just my two cents, but don't be expecting a major drop in prices if you go up there without tix in hand.

That's why I said it's a complete risk. I've also seen online markets go down big as you get closer to the event - but it's also because shipping is no longer an option (i.e. there weren't many tickets listed for the Big Ten Tournament - but they were all paper tickets scattered all over the Midwest...there were plenty to be had on the streets for much cheaper than what was online).

I think there will be a good demand, primarily from Iowa State fans. However, the Bradley Center is also a big arena (19,000) for a mid-sized city. So you never know.

Do you live in the Milwaukee area? I'm assuming the BC is in the downtown area: where is one of the cheaper places to park?

Ibodel - I hear ya on prices dropping as you get close to the event. I went to the Des Moines Session 2 last year (IU & UK were each playing that night) and paid only $35/ticket (plus fees) for lower level tickets an hour before tip. Those tickets had been north of $200/each all week, but fell dramatically day of game. But, every situation is different. For that Session, there were over 500 tickets listed for sale on StubHub the day of the game. For tonight's game, there is less than 100. And, while i didn't look at every listing two days ago, the vast majority were listed as "pickup" and not "UPS" for delivery, so I really do think they were actually purchased and not withdrawn due to shipping timing issues.

As an aside, I went to the game on Thursday, hoping to buy tix cheap like i did at Des Moines last year. Lower level prices came down marginally, but a pair was generally at least $150/ticket with 30mins before Session 2 tipoff. So, I ended up in Upper Level because I'm cheap. Based on my viewpoint, it certainly seemed that ISU was the driver of prices staying elevated. You could get a Lower Level pair to Session 1 for $50/each, by the way.

Could prices come down as we get closer to the game - of course, but I wouldn't be counting on it. I truly think most tickets have settled into "buy and hold" hands, not "fast money" speculators. But, as the great Ted Dibiase said "everybody has a price", so maybe some of those ISU fans will be willing to sell, but I would think it will be at a high price.

I hope any Purdue fan that goes tonight scores a great deal. The point of my post is that you shouldn't make the drive with the expectation that a deal will be had. Be prepared to pay up if you go, or just be willing to walk and watch it at the local Purdue bar. Good luck to everybody going tonight!
