Obviously much was made of the FT discrepancies between Texas and Purdue, but as others have noted, Texas ranked 125/336 in KP FT offense/defense, or getting to the line / defense w/o fouling. Texas shot jumpers and fouled a lot on D going for turnoversDvwhich explains that stat.

Purdue is #13/6 in FT offense/defense respectively. Purdue pounds the paint and plays softer D.

The numbers and playing styles prove that the FT narrative was not a fluke or conspiracy.

So what about St Peters? Well they are actually similar to Texas on D, in fact they foul even more according to KP, again playing tough D to get turnovers, they are 19/348 in FT O/D...actually worse than Texas was at defending without fouling but getting to the line more since they rely on cutters towards the basket and don't shoot a ton of 3s. I think they reverted to their norm against murray state in that respect.

I think our gameplan might be to clog the paint and make them beat us from deep, keep them off the line and pound the paint. They are not deep so foul trouble might prove to be an issue.
