No. And I never said he was the best player. I said going into the season, he had a case. Which he did. Did it pan out for him? Nope. Was being at Ohio State a problem? Absolutely. Even then, he's still averaging 17.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 4.5apg, 1.1spg and shooting 50.7% from the field, 43.2% from 3 and 84.1% from the FT line. He might still be Top 5-6 for POY. Statistically, he's having a great season(you can't deny that). Ohio State just isn't very good and may miss the NCAA tourney.
Nah, you were all up on his nuts, which is cool if that’s your thing. He’s having a good season and is a good player (certainly better than anyone at IU), but not great.

Is personally would go

1. Smith
2. TKR
3. Tonje

But I'd put Thornton at least #3 if Ohio State were worth anything as a team.
I'd put him at 4 or 5 if OSU were a top-five team but if they were in the hunt for a championship at the end of the season I agree that he could be top three.

I can see having Tonje ahead of him but who would be a 4th to go ahead of him? Goldin?
Oh boy, I don't like Goldin but he means a lot to the Michigan team. I was actually thinking of Martinelli. OSU is not a very good team but they have talent. Without Barnheizer, not sure what NU has outside of Martinelli.

If I'm being honest, part of my discounting of Bruce's performance is that OSU has talent and some of the fact that they're not very good falls on their point guard, IMO.

I mean I guess but they have also been without Meechie Johnson all year. And some of their paper talent isn't court talent, like Aaron Bradshaw. I don't think Thornton will get 1st All-B1G but he's definitely a Top 5 player in the league. I think he's getting at least a singular vote for POY if Ohio State were Top 4 in the B1G. It helps that Michigan State doesn't have a POY candidate as well.

Who has Thorton made better?
