Landing good players is one thing, but this staff is failing to even ask.

None of the home state's top six rated players for 2016 has an offer to date from Purdue. Everyone but us.

Nothing new, however. We got only two of Indiana's top 20 for 2015 ... matching the number headed for Western Michigan.

This is what's weird to me. We have someone say that Hazell is talking about how important recruiting the state is - yet we don't see it actually even attempted.

You can't just say what sounds good to make people feel good. If there's one thing that will really tighten the noose on Hazell, it's recruiting. You can lose games and point to recruiting as progress - Purdue doesn't have even a flicker of light for the future with the recruiting they've put together.

You say one thing. Rivals' lists say another. Based on your track record, I'll put stock in Rivals.

In fact, Rivals doesn't show Purdue anywhere among Austin Mack's 26 considerations, let alone having an offer.

Rivals isn't gospel, yet here we are on a Rivals board, with a link to the Rivals list, while you show absolutely nothing. Just like all those invisible checked offers from Purdue.

Regardless, we're clearly late to the parties in our own place, which explains why we're doing no better in our home state than outsiders like Virginia Tech and Western Michigan.

Chris Evans tweeted out he was offered by Purdue this week. GBI said we offered mack and robinson, so, yeah, i was right. Rivals isnt constantly updated, so it isnt gospel

As to your other point, i agree, we are late a lot

hopefully, Collin Miller from Fishers, IN. will be getting one.
He and Burks from Carmel should be priorities. Hopefully both are offered

he's expecting an offer from us this week. He just attended our Jr. day and has offers from Ill. and iu.

What???? Wait a minute!!!! You mean it's time to be recruiting for 2016???

Just because an athlete has an offer, it does not necessarily a committable offer. For example the Buckeyes have an offer to Autin Robertson but it is not yet committable. OSU has commitments from two 4-star defensive ends, Josh King from Darien (Ill.) Hinsdale South who they like better than Robertson.

What? And how is OSU defensive line prospects and example of the bolded?

boiler 17,
I'm not sure why that bolded. I cut and pasted from another site that is why the hyper link is there on the players.

My point is that the data on the offers might not be accurate and Purdue could still be talking to the players knowing that the just because a school has offered it doesn't mean the player can commit. Robertson would even know that all those offers are not committable.

Im with you on the offer lists possibly not being accurate.

But I dont understand how an offer doesnt mean a guy can commit. I mean, thats what they are offering is the opportunity to commit. Not saying its not true, just saying I dont understand it. I though conditional offers didnt count.

It's common. They are conditional on several things. Grades, if another player they want more commits, timing, etc.

Nat100 is correct.

Most top teams are making offers that are not committable. Frankly, it's because they have higher desired players that they are waiting for. But, they make offers detailing different outlines of what they want the recruit to accomplish before it can be committable. Could be grades, Summer camps, weight/training programs etc. On one hand it is leading the athlete on, especially if the school is waiting to see what better recruits will decide. On the other hand, many recruits have not had a stellar upbringing so the school wants to see how diligent they will be to certain demands or structures.

Good to know! Thanks guys. That does make sense when I think about committed guys that get bounced for grades.

Purdue sucks.
