Right, a coach that at sets it up so his team scores the tying basket and gives the opposition 13 seconds to win (even though they managed to miss the winning ft).... and now they know they have a real coach..lol Perspective: They beat a team who has lost 3 of their last 5 games, including a home loss to Ball State. The two wins are vs the Delaware Blue Hens and SFNY. I'm glad they won, but I felt even better after reading their board. Really sets themselves up for their next big let down. No fans are so delusional as IU fans.
Not a giant in any sense of the word. Just a little pond. The "sleeping giant" is awake.....it will go back to sleep very soon!
They keep saying over there on peegs is this the year the sleeping giant awakes. But every year our big boy just lays there flat on his back....Not a giant in any sense of the word. Just a little pond.

Interesting in that I was just discussing entitled opinions moments ago. Because people have opinions do not mean they are entitled to hold them...even though they might in spite of opposition...read on because this has nothing to do with your comments....just a clarification that having an opinion is not the same as being entitled to the opinion even though many don't think about the difference.Hey guys i bleed black & gold and i think any win is a plus for big ten. So i think that it was a plus that IU beat Notre Dame. That's my opinion but i am entitled to it.
Bottom line, even if one can say that they are entitled to have an opinion it doesn't mean that it has any legitimacyInteresting in that I was just discussing entitled opinions moments ago. YOU in this situation are entitled to your opinion, but if your opinion was that all males over 45 should be shot...then no, your opinion is wrong and you are NOT entitled to hold an opinion of destruction for such a broad brush. In this case, an IU win (and yes, ND does not look very good this year so far. They are ND and gets votes just because) in theory could help Purdue. Not to pick on you at all, but only since I was in conversation on this subject a few hours ago...somehow intelligent people need to distinguish between holding an opinion and being entitled to that opinion because I see us using them interchangable and it appears to me to be a slight difference. If your opinion was that all police officers should be shot, then that might be your opinion, but I don't see why you should be entitled to that opinion...and I walk carefully through this fragile area of group speak because it can raise a very ugly side through Cultural Marxism.
Again, this has NOTHING to do with you...I agree with you...it is just that I think there should be a difference between holding opinions and being entitled to them and I think those lines of demarcation I see are many times blurred. Off the soap box...![]()
Delusional iu fans is redundant.I know some delusional IU fans, but I am glad they beat ND.
fully understand that and again this has nothing to do with the original poster, but I really believe that many today believe their opinion is as good as another and that because they have an opinion they are entitled to hold it...whatever it may be. I see this playing out everywhere and the reality is all opinions are NOT equal...some much more debatable than others naturally.Bottom line, even if one can say that they are entitled to have an opinion it doesn't mean that it has any legitimacy
You OBVIOUSLY went to Purdue.Interesting in that I was just discussing entitled opinions moments ago. Many reasons to be happy. Was down 14. Under Crean, that leads probably grows to 30. So very happy we showed some grit, battled and got the lead to 6 before half. How can they even really be happy with the way they won? Really ugly win. I mean it went into overtime because ND missed two straight free throws...
yeah, it saves a lot of time to tell others I'm a Purdue gaduate and just assume I'm right! You OBVIOUSLY went to Purdue.![]()
100% agree. I appreciate your rational and logic-based approach to these topics. Two of my children attended other universities, the third attended Purdue. The horror stories I have heard about the emotional approach to shutting down discussion at other schools makes me appreciate Purdue so much more. I know some of the militant PC crap crept in under Cordova's watch, but the foundation still seems to be strong.yeah, it saves a lot of time to tell others I'm a Purdue gaduate and just assume I'm right!![]()
Actually, that subject is or was difficult because I hate the thought of thought police and the PC that is going on, but by the same token we have a huge problem brewing if we assume a legitimacy (as mentioned by 70boiler) and that people are entitled to whatever their opinion just because. I have some Libertarian leans and so I type very carefully on this subject. I'm not looking for conformance to group thought at all...I would hate that, but having an opinion gathered through Osmosis by many and assuming all are entitled to so many false thoughts leads to some huge problems

Down 8 with 1:49 to play.. Again, under Crean, this one's over. Made some big shots and done something we haven't done in years----Got stops late in the game. Great play design for Morgan to send the game to OT.
In OT, down 5 with 20 seconds left. No panic. Ran our offense, got the ball to Morgan, who scored. Then a terrific play by McRoberts ,which led to the eventual game winning dunk by Morgan.
And not to mention we got noting from Davis.
So that's how we can be happy.
Unless you haven't noticed, we are a terrible shooting team. Yes we were down three, and with a team like Purdue, you probably look for the three, IF you don't get a quick hitter. But we don't have the shooters you guys have. So the play we ran; an isolation for Morgan to me was the best option. Notre Dame couldn't guard him. So you run an iso there, with your best player. If he misses, you give your self an opportunity for an offensive rebound, and then yeah, look for the three. But with how we have shot, I thought it was the absolute right call to go to Morgan. ANd thought it was the right call to go early. By doing so, you give yourself the opportunity of more than one shot. The odds of us hitting a game tying three wasn't that good. The odds of Morgan scoring, and possibly being fouled, were much better. IMO, a very good play call at that juncture of the game.Help me remember because I'm getting old. Wasn't IU down 3 when Morgan dribbled and shot? If no foul and his misses...who knows? if no foul and he hits...ND still in the lead. How is having a set play (I think that is what you said) in having a four dribble the ball down three with seconds a great play design to send the game to OT? Would you be happy had ND not fouled or was called for a foul? Now, if I'm wrong and IU was only up 2...then okay...OR if the desire was to get a quick bucket and play from there ...okay, but that doesn't send it to OT. I thought it was the bucket AND the foul that allowed the game to be tied, but without ND's help..that game might not go to OT..like Coleson not blocking out on FT's when McRoberts got the board and hit Morgan under the bucket which really was a horrible play by Coleson rather than a great play by McRoberts...course I expect players to actually block out ...especially on FTs. Now McRoberts did what was allowed and that was good and Morgan played very well, but I think ND went brain dead on some really fundamental things. Still, a win is a win and I can understand being happy..just not for all the reasons you listed although I agree with the grit part...
If I'm wrong and IU was only down two...then I understand...
Likely Bagley from Duke, Bridges from MSU, or Trae (frogs) from Oklahoma. If OK ends up knocking Kansas’ off the Big 12 pedestal, that kid is likely handed the award.Speaking of Bonzi. If that's a national player of the year candidate the pool is awfully shallow this year.
Indiana was down two; 65-63. Even if down three, I would still like that play. We cannot shoot. So look for a quick hitter. Plus, ND hadn't shown the ability to guard Morgan; 34 points. And as a four, Morgan handles the ball pretty decent. Very good play call.Help me remember because I'm getting old. Wasn't IU down 3 when Morgan dribbled and shot? If no foul and his misses...who knows? if no foul and he hits...ND still in the lead. No your recollection is fine, my friend. IU was down 65-63 at the time.It was a 2 point game, I thought. Clear look, make and no foul.
Maybe my recollection is bad since I too am old.
Meh, Bonzi's pretty darn good. He had 29 and 11. Thought IU did a nice job of forcing him off the blocks. He's a monster in the lane. Still, he hit some good, tough shots.Speaking of Bonzi. If that's a national player of the year candidate the pool is awfully shallow this year.
Yeah, two point game at the time. In OT, IU was down three, 77-74 when Miller ran the exact same play.It was here's the replay
Thought so, but...No your recollection is fine, my friend. IU was down 65-63 at the time.
Yes. I agree.Yeah, two point game at the time. In OT, IU was down three, 77-74 when Miller ran the exact same play.
I can certainly see why you might post that. And BTW, you guys looked very good. Really glad we play you guys in Bloomington.
I think we could be competitive at Mackey. Especially if we continue to improve, and can start to hit some damn shots. But even though we have some seniors, and a junior, we still have some young guys playing significant minutes. Not to mention Mackey is a tough ass place to play. I could see a game there getting out of hand.I can certainly see why you might post that.
