Does anyone remember Ian. Penn State was rebounding like him last night. He was an animal on the boards.. Wonder what he is up to these days...

What I remember is someone that was hyped as a rebounder......but stats were average. Never saw him as a big-time rebounder....but a fighter with lots of heart for an undersized guy.

yes, one of my favorites... he had heart. Much like Chris Kramer, Todd Foster, and Brian Cardinal, just to mention a few. Roll on train. This is the year. Blue bloods are going to the Keebler elf tree with clappy.

Forced to play center at 6-7. Played bigger than his size. One of my all-time favorite Boilers.

He wasn't even 6'7. He was closer to 6'5 (media guides pumped up his height). He drew the most charges I can ever remember seeing from a Purdue player, until Brian Cardinal.

That's what I remember most about Ian too. I guess we aren't mistaken: Ian won the Courage Award (most charges taken) in '92, '93 & '94.

Of course, Cardinal did outdo him by winning the award all 4 yrs he was at Purdue.

You are correct. Out of high school, Street & Smith listed him at 6-7 and Purdue never corrected it.

I got to meet Ian at a Keady camp the summer before Cardinals senior year. Great guy and seemed a bit taller than 6'5" to me.

Memory I cherish playing ball with Cardinal, Cunningham et al. at Mackey. Little did I know I would be watching them come so close to ending the FF drought later that year.

Good guy, played hard, not a very good athlete. Had a nice jumper to about 15 feet. Pretty similar to Brantley.

He was a warrior, but it was his offensive rebounding that stood out to me...at least that was the rebounding I recall

I hope we can get the East St Louis connection back. I don't think we have signed anyone from there since Cuonzo and Stanback.

Keady called him one of the best offensive rebounders he ever coached. His overall rebound numbers weren't great, but he was a best on the offensive boards.

I actually had a few classes with him. He was hilarious! He also wasn't 6'8", but I would have guessed 6'6" (I'm 6'2", so noticably bigger than me.)
