Is it just me or does he look like a prototypical Boilermaker. Reminded me of Jeff Arnold or Steve Sheffler. I'm not a fan of the portal or taking other B1G talent, but he just screams Boilermaker.
It wouldn’t be taking B1G talent since he came to Michigan via FAU and Dusty. Is it just me or does he look like a prototypical Boilermaker. Reminded me of Jeff Arnold or Steve Sheffler. I'm not a fan of the portal or taking other B1G talent, but he just screams Boilermaker.

It’s really starting to click for Burgess. I have high expectations for the rotation next season with him and Jacobsen.I hope either Oregon's center or UCLA's 7'2 center enters the portal and the Purdue collective offers them $2 mil for one year to come play here. Would be amazing to have a rotation of DJ and one of those two at the 5 next year for the natty run.
I assume you mean Bittle for Oregon? Cuz he’s done after this year.I hope either Oregon's center or UCLA's 7'2 center enters the portal and the Purdue collective offers them $2 mil for one year to come play here. Would be amazing to have a rotation of DJ and one of those two at the 5 next year for the natty run.
Agree. Purdue will miss Caleb, particularly on defense, but the continued development of Raleigh and return of DJ will provide a very talented rotation. It’s really starting to click for Burgess. I have high expectations for the rotation next season with him and Jacobsen.
Caleb’s D and rebounding is one of the best things going on with the team right now. Will miss that piece next year for sureAgree. Purdue will miss Caleb, particularly on defense, but the continued development of Raleigh and return of DJ will provide a very talented rotation.
I agree...Purdue is a stud away from a deep run next year.I hope either Oregon's center or UCLA's 7'2 center enters the portal and the Purdue collective offers them $2 mil for one year to come play here. Good call. Didn't check if he was a senior or not.I assume you mean Bittle for Oregon? Cuz he’s done after this year.
Mara for ucla will have eligibility for sure. Not sure he’d come somewhere where he won’t be guaranteed PT tho.
Looks Like he’s about to retire with a 401k so I get why 😂Good call. Didn't check if he was a senior or not.
Agree. Would maybe be smart to bring in a guy with Fursts skill set just to be sure.I agree...Purdue is a stud away from a deep run next year.
Starting to but still makes dumb mistakes and just gets bullied around. This year will do wonders for him to prepare in the off-season and get stronger. It’s really starting to click for Burgess. I have high expectations for the rotation next season with him and Jacobsen.
Yeah RB is one of those dudes that ends up being a matchup nightmare when he's older.I'm a big RB fan. I've loved his progression over the course of the season and can't wait to see him develop over the course of his career at Purdue. But if there is an experienced 7 fter with skill in the portal after this season, Purdue should absolutely reach out and get the NIL collective involved to offer competitive compensation with the addition that he can legit be a part of a potential national title contender. Next season is title season. Got to hang as many banners as possible. Getting high level insurance at the 5 will help a lot.
I agree with this, and particularly how furst can guard the perimeter. I’m wondering how defense will work next year with DJ playing more similar to edey most likely.Caleb’s D and rebounding is one of the best things going on with the team right now. Will miss that piece next year for sure
All that predicated by the level of athleticism. DJ will have more range than Edey. Furst has more range than both just by being a better small twitch athlete. Not a better ball player than the others per se but reaction time is better and not being so big and lanky helps him there.I agree with this, and particularly how furst can guard the perimeter. I’m wondering how defense will work next year with DJ playing more similar to edey most likely.
Love his demeanor. Hard nosed, big old goof. He’s gonna be goodYeah RB is one of those dudes that ends up being a matchup nightmare when he's older.
Burgess having to learn he can’t just use his size to be good at this level. He will get it, just like you said with coach B.I like Burgess but dude needs to stop leaving his feet in defense. He also needs to anticipate better because he always is a step behind.
Just a few nitpicks but he has a lot of upside. A solid off-season to get stronger and build that frame out plus Brantley working on his post moves - he will be a nightmare in a year or 2. Think of the PNR sets Braden and CJ could run with Burgess and Jacobsen next year 😳
Side note - sad to see Berg being relegated to scrap minutes. Wonder if he sticks around next year.
Well said. I mean there was the clip in the second half where TKR is screaming at him to pick up his man when we were coming back on D.Burgess having to learn he can’t just use his size to be good at this level. He will get it, just like you said with coach B.
I’d assume Berg leaves but who knows
😂 he seems just like a big, happy go lucky goof. Always smiling. I can’t wait to see his development in the next few yearsWell said. I mean there was the clip in the second half where TKR is screaming at him to pick up his man when we were coming back on D.
Totally - could be a character in Half Baked 🫠😂 he seems just like a big, happy go lucky goof. Always smiling. I can’t wait to see his development in the next few years
You know his IU re-created the “Wat Shot?”Totally - could be a character in Half Baked 🫠
He is a gamer though. Has some solid skills and learning on the job is the best way to improve. Curious after he logged 14 (11 if you exclude the garbage time) if he will get that many minutes again against IU.
It seems to me that he’s doing quite a bit better in this respect than he was early in the season, but these are learning curves that most freshmen have to go through. I can’t help but think back to Colvin a year ago versus this season.Well said.
