I think it hurts playing so late on Sunday.

The selection team already have their picks done before the game is over. Michigan St should be pissed!

They do, but the committee also covers themselves for all outcomes. David Worlock (title: NCAA media coordinator for March Madness) tweeted this during our game:

"We have 4 brackets based on outcomes of these last 2 games."

from the seeds and comments, they clearly didn't take the BTT finals or even semis into consideration.

I have no idea why Jim Cheaney keeps the tournament final on Sunday. It hurts the league every year. Start the tournament 1 day earlier and have the final on Saturday.

How many times do people have to say that the committee has contingencies for what happens in the championship game?!?!?!?!

They even tweeted out DURING our game they had different brackets for the outcomes of the game!

They can say it all they want. Their actions suggest otherwise. I don't think they took the BTT semis into consideration, much less the finals.

Quite frankly, it doesn't look like they took much stock in any of the conference tourneys, has nothing to do with the Big Ten. Look how A&M is rated above Kentucky. Kentucky beat them in their conference championship game and had them ranked multiple spots worse than A&M (same exact record). Look at Duke, they lost early in their conference tourney, didn't seem to get affected by it.

I have heard arguments that the at large teams should be picked prior to the conference tournaments and that the tournaments should only count towards the automatic qualifier. I agree that the they didn't put much stock on the tourneys this year.

Yeah...Bilas mentioned it several times. Won't happen, but it would be more equitable. Michigan got in the field with beating Indiana, but most of the effects were around the edges.
