I predict IU will be in the market for an FB coach as well.

Not because Kevin Wilson would be fired but I think he may have reached a ceiling at IU and when the coaching musical chairs starts, him making IU a +.500 team may be attractive to another school. I can see him being the type to bolt. Just an interesting thought as he has IU in likely back to back bowl games.

He's not going anywhere. He's not done anything that is going to get him consideration for a step up. Despite his signature win being against MSU this year (0-7 in B1G), back to back bowl games will make him a legend in Bloomington.

He goes to bowl games at IU, a basketball school who has to play Michigan, tO$U, and Penn State each&every season. Furthermore, he manages to scare the he@@ out of them due to fielding one of the conference's top offenses the past few seasons. He'll get looks as an OC if nothing else; Whether he leaves is another story...

Wilson is going nowhere for now. Their best position most years is 5th in the east. If they do that consistently and go to bowls they will be happy. He might get looks for a better job. IU is a tough place to win and he's done an admirable job. AD's at other schools might take notice.

I think someone will leave somewhere later in the game... some domino deal in January with someone to the NFL or another gig. Like Fedora to another school (Baylor or Florida; again, dominoes) and Wilson a UNC alum with experience coaching FB at a basketball school will be an attractive pick.

I definitely think he's got a shot at taking a step up. He's done a solid job at terrible IU.

Give him some FBall school resources and a defense and he could win a Natty. Stud O for sure.

Agreed w all, but he was OC at Oklahoma before IU. Not sure I see him taking another OC job.

Wilson has done okay at IU but lets remember 3 of his 11 Big Ten Wins were against Purdue teams coached by DH.

You can only go 6-6 for so long at a school before some members of the fan base will get tired of it and accuse other fans of accepting mediocrity instead of demanding excellence. IU football fans right now are happy with it. Let it happen for another 2-3 years and then see what they are saying. The fact is that a string of bowls at IU is pretty damn impressive but the more that happens the more their fans will believe they have a higher spot in the college football world than they actually do and think they deserve more.

if he gets them to a bowl this year , he earned himself at least another year.

He signed a new 6 year contract after last season. We could lose out by 150 and he's not going anywhere. There is no "earning another year."

He's been a successful OC at NW and OU. Regardless of IU's place in the FB world, he's not giving up HC duties, especially when he and his staff just got raises and are getting another stadium renovation.

Well, not unless it's for a NFL OC job, then maybe if he's tired of dealing with recruiting. Otherwise, yes, people don't usually willingly give up the head coach title to move back into a coordinator position.

Why would we fire him? We haven't been to back to back bowls in like 3 centuries. He's not even remotely on the hot seat.
I completely agree. Even at .500, IU is exciting to watch. They have decent ticket sales, they remodeled the stadium, and they seldom get blown out. Bowl games are new thing to IU. I see him staying right where he is.

Even if he leaves this year or they do fire him (they won't), the IU job is not going to be more attractive than the Purdue job. ESPECIALLY with IU being in the East Division

I don't see Wilson getting a job offer this year, even in a domino type situation in January.

another 6-6 year I think people will start to notice....but not yet. Not now.
