I hate to say this, but we need IU to win tonight...

If we win out, it is likely that we will win at least a share of the title. I believe there is more than 1% chance of us winning out.
Iowa shot terribly tonight. They had open looks from three, that didn't go. They had lay in's that bounced out - one trip they had three tip-in tries and finally IU comes away with the basketball. Yes, Indiana played good defense, but Iowa was really cold. Against us they hit 11/13 three point shots. Nothin like that tonight.
If Iowa had played this way against us, we would have chewed them up. It's when you play them, right?
I'm happy we have a shot to win a share of the title.

What about that last play of the half. First off, IU did not get the ball in-bounded in the 5 count, They fouled Yogi, but no call, then Yogi walked and no call, then they did call a foul and it was ruled intentional. Unbelievable. Hope the craziness is limited when we visit. As a side note, when you try to foul when you have fouls to give and they don't call it, so you foul a little more demonstratively and they call it
Plus they missed 10 free throws including some front ends. I also counted at least 3, maybe 4, loose balls the results of a scramble for the ball that rolled right out to an IU player just standing behind the arc for a 3. These stats don't negate anything the OP said. If the OP's claim is true, that Iowa missed a lot os easy shots then that means Iowa's shooting stats would be higher than they are here.
I'm not defending the OP or stating that his claims are true, just merely pointing out this attempt to refute the OP's claim is a poor one.
First of all, don't even worry about IU, they will lose Sunday @ MSU (no friggin' brainer there), then they will lose against Maryland, @ Illinois, Purdue, & @ Iowa. So there's 5 losses, that gives them a total of 10 losses, which means they are a bubble team (at best). They very well might not even get in with only the Iowa home win being a marquee win. So yea, only concern yourself with true good teams. IU does NOT have the horses, size, talent, and defense to compete, then add the fact that they are HORRIBLE on defense (one of the worst defensive teams in BIG TEN history of all time). IU is just so lucky that their schedule favored them early. They lost to PENN STATE, ROTFL, lol, OMG, it was soooooo funny to watch them lose to that terrible program. Also, and I think you all forget this, IU has the worst RPI of all the top 5 big ten teams (51). They might climb just a tiny bit after beating MSU (due to RPI being back-loaded on SOS). IU's turnover ranking is horrible, they are just plain ole sad turning the ball over. Kara Lawson said it best, AT BEST Indiana is 5th best in the BIG TEN. She is spot on and knows what she is talking about.
No doubt, IU is awful and you can't go by those stats, lol. Put it this way, IU played a walk-on in the first and 2nd half. Harrison Diego, ROTFL, they are desperate. It's funny how bad they are.
Ahem....didn't you guys get trounced by Illinois on the road? If IU was horrible as you suggest, they would have got run out of the building last night.
If you follow Big Ten basketball you know that any given night can produce a surprise.
It doesn't matter. IU and Purdue are both looking up at Iowa and Maryland at season's end.

Yep. And bonus, it keeps Crean looking good! It's about time that worthless team did something for us. Now our game with them will be bigger and it brought Iowa back to the pack a little. The more pride stupid iu fans have when we play them will make it that much sweeter when another double digit whipping comes their way. Iowa played really bad last night. iu won strictly on offensive rebounding. They must have had 20. It was silly, but like you said, good for us.

You have misinterpreted my post, but that is not a surprise. Maybe I didn't explain it well enough. Iowa has been on a tear, shooting an incredible % from 3 in many of their games. For example, Iowa hit 11 or 13 3-pt shots in the second half, at Purdue, which is a blistering 84%. Their shooting was also hot against MSU. The fact that IU and Iowa shot almost the same % is exactly what I was talking about in my post.
I think Iowa came back down to earth at IU. Many of Iowa's misses were really open 3-pt shots that they just missed. IU's interior defense was pretty good, but my comment was reflective of the open 3's Iowa left on the floor. Of course there was that one sequence when Iowa couldn't get the ball in the basket with three tries directly under the basket. Take nothing away from a great game by the Hoosiers, but Iowa was much colder than they have been playing against other top BIG teams.
To be fair, IU missed some open looks and easy bunnies as well, it happens. Iowa's offense looked confused for much of the first half, I would credit that to IU's defense more than I would Iowa just "coming back down to earth."
Why is it when a hot shooting team doesn't shoot so well we always blame it on the team cooling off instead of giving the defense credit? IU played poorly at PSU, most of that was because PSU played a great game defensively and I don't think IU was expecting that. Maybe Iowa wasn't expecting IU to cover them as well as they did. Although, Iowa did shoot 52% in the first half to IU's 50%.

Better check Iowa vs PU stats... Iowa was 7-19 vs PU. Exact same from 3.

IU made Iowa look very pedestrian last night. IU may be a better team than we give them credit for.

Was Iowa really in a zone that long in the first half? I thought Iowa was in a zone more often after IU had built up a lead. I actually thought it was the zone D that got Iowa back in it before the half. The pace really slowed down in that final 5 mins, which looked to me to be a result of IU just passing it around the perimeter for 20-seconds each trip trying to figure out how to score against (what looked like) a match-up zone.

Here's why you NEVER cheer for IU. You can't get rid of them over here when they win but you can't post this kind of BS over at the STYE when they don't.
They are like a bad case of herpes. Just when you think they are gone, something happens that stirs up the rash and it takes a while for it to just go away.
It does stun me how that entire fanbase is so obsessed with what is posted here.
IU caught a huge break when Blackmon went out. Johnson has always been the better player and will play defense which Blackmon will not. Anyone who thinks they aren't a good team is deluding themselves. Yes they had a easy schedule but they also won most of those games. We are a better team and need to beat them but I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't.
IU's paper lion season is about to come crashing down, and with it, little Tommy Crean (doing stretches before a game, are u serious??) will go crashing down with it AND the AD (Glass). When IU cannot be seen anywhere near a remotely decent RPI and also KenPom, the committee will do the right thing and put them on the bubble like they deserve. They are so gutless and soft it is not even funny. Just watch the Penn State game, they had nothing for a disaster of a team. Bryant is all bark and no bite. Troy Williams is just a hot-dog with no real substantive talent. I am just amazed at the absolute wimps they have on that team. Against Rutgers, they looked awful and were exposed in that game. If you want to know how to beat Indiana, watch the Penn State and Rutgers game......and if you want to know how to take 2 to 3 different players out of a game, watch the Wisconsin game (oh, btw, that's another one of IU's embarrassing road losses to a totally green head coach - Greg Gard). IU is toast. OK, so the first game they have coming up on Sunday vs. MSU, they will lose by at least 22 points. MSU will expose them for what they are, FRAUDS. The rest of the BIG TEN vs. THE FRAUDS

Another option is to tell the ref that you're going to foul before the ball is inbounded. I understand players do this, too.
