I’m here - tough game to watch. I enjoy interacting with you guys. Win our lose we’ve had some great battles
The closeness of getting eliminated from the tournament by Purdue, created a bit of refocus and urgency for the Cougs. Purdue gets an assist in another Tennessee loss.
When you think about how the refs screwed us vs Houston.....and then see this H/TN result .......one thinks we just got screwed out of a FF.
Compound this with Cline missing a free throw keeping us out of another one,.......... hopefully, things turn around & we are DUE next year.

Most of SEC country likes watching UT lose. I would argue their whine factor is greater than IU

Thankfully we won't have to watch Ziegler any longer. Dude is irritating as hell. Hacks and fouls constantly when guarding the ball handler and then acts like he got screwed every time. Also flops all the time driving to the basket when his shot gets blocked. Will not miss seeing him.
Our pal Vol Scott aside, I remain fascinated by the irrational arrogance of the prison jumpsuit fanbase before every big game….

I think I heard Tennessee has never been to a final four in school history.
Apparently that is still true. I was really hoping to be the ones to beat them for a 4th time in 3 years. Saying we lost to Houston by 2 and they got destroyed one would think we would ha e thrashed them too although I know it doesn't work that way.

no way. iu fans are orders of magnitude worse. They come bragging before the season even starts! Vols just like to party up.

You got it - knew with 6-7 minutes at half it was too big of a hole against a quality team.
I readily admit that I'm by no means a Vol fan, but I much prefer Barnes to Sampson.

Another loss to Purdue in the tourney (which I'm highly confident would have happened) would have essentially forced UT to forfeit all future games against Purdue.

Lol - I think they were evenly split. I was looking forward to a rematch with Purdue, as all the games have been fairly competitive. We seem to be meeting up in these early season tournaments which really seem to set the tone for the rest of the season.
You would think Illinois having access to Chicago area talent would be a major advantage, but they can’t seem to lock that down.
East TN has ok talent, but we’re fighting Memphis for west TN players and UK for anyone in the mid state. That’s why we have to get players from NY, Cali, Virginia, etc.
Not sure if Illinois and TN basketball have anything in common really
Sampson is a helluve Coach, coaching wise he reminds me of Keady, it’s all about defense without many pros on his teams.
His ability to coach is not in question. Not the reason I'm not a fan.
I'm right there with you. These guys that have cheated at multiple places and the media never brings it up. It's like the past is just forgotten and they slobber all over them like they are something special. Sure, the guy can coach, but let's also not forget about the cheating in his past.
