are both playing this weekend. I'm glad Purdue Football is coming first so I can see it tonight in the comfort of home, just in case I have to evacuate from my Sarasota County home tomorrow. The nice thing about Comcast cable is I'm always able to watch the Boilers from home. There's lots of Boilers around here. I ran into 2 this morning, both commenting on my "Lets play Football" shirt. Everybody who talks Purdue Football with me is very positive! Go Purdue beat Ohio U!

How much gas do you have in your tank? I hope it's full if you are waiting as long as possible. I have family members who were having trouble finding gas as they were leaving yesterday.

I wish you the best. Be safe!

Thank you. My tank is full. The Governor has ordered State Police escorts of gasoline deliveries from the Port of Tampa (and all over the state). I've never seen or heard of a state government that is as prepared for a Hurricane as this one is now.

That's great to hear!

Have a sister that left Wednesday for Georgia. She lives about 1 mile east and 2 mile north of the Sarasota airport.

Watching Irma's track and destruction is definitely frightening. I have several family members that live on or near water in Ft Myers, and it looks like that area will be nailed with current projections. Thoughts and prayers will be with all of those impacted by this storm this weekend.

Yes.....thoughts and prayers for all that they may stay and be safe.....my younger sister and her family lives in Tampa. The force of nature at times like these puts life in perspective.

Ft Myers could see a storm surge of 9'-12'. It's frightening to be here. There is an Erie silence that has blanketed my city...and people are hunkered down awaiting the storms arrival...many (like me) are freaking the f*** out. If you don't hear from me on here, then you know things didn't go to well. The terrible time is Sunday.

Godspeed my cyber friend...

On Friday, a 7 hour drive to Alabama took 17 hours. Gas is scarce. The hurricane is currently pointed at my house. Hopefully the prediction is wrong.

At least you made it out...I'm sitting in my home in Venice FL...and the TV is saying that Hurricane force winds will hit us between 3-5 pm...having lived the vast majority of my life in Indiana, I have survived many tornadoes, but Hurricanes are far worse. Tornadoes come and go with almost no warning...while residents of Florida have had a week to watch hurricane Irma cut a path of destruction across the Caribbean on its way to Florida.

I can't describe how it feels to wait for hours for a Hurricane and once it hits, it'll last for 12-18 hours. It's now 11:30 am and there is heavy rain and the winds are 24 MPH, but I can't imagine what lies ahead. May God Bless Florida today.
