Wanted to get a weigh in on our chances beating each school ranked ahead of us.
1. Gonzaga...30%
2. Nova...24%
3. KU...20%
4. Arizona...30%
5. UCLA...32%
6. Oregon...41%
7. L'Ville...43%
8. UNC...48%
9. Baylor...48%
10. Duke...36%
11. UK...38%
12. WVU...55%
13. Florida...52%

Ville and Duke would be the toughest IMO. On a side note I would not mind being a 4 seed and meeting Gonzaga is the sweet 16. They always underperform in march(so does Purdue though) and there is no way they are better than Nova.

Just win the first game then play the team that's next. Win and advance, you know, the old chestnut.

Are these just random percentages you made up? I think this is exactly what KenPom exists for but unscientifically I'd put Purdue basically at 50/50 against
Gonzaga
Nova (already played them to within 3 and the team has changed a lot since then)
Kansas: No front court depth, if Lucas get in foul trouble. it would look like second half Nova.
Baylor
Florida

I'd put Purdue as slight dogs against the uber athletic teams because history shows that being problem
UNC
Duke
Kentucky

The pressing teams I think Purdue could handle now but I'd have to see that in a full game to believe it fully
West Virginia
Louisville

Then I honestly don't know how Purdue matches up with the three Pac 12 teams. From what I see, they look very fast and skilled but I don't know how much defense they play out there. I hope to see the second weekend of the tourney.

For the most part those percentages strike me on the low side for for a quite a few of those games.

All of those teams are more athletic than us, yet I don't think they are all better teams.

I like our chances against Nova or Louisville in a second match-up, on a neutral court. Knowing how good those two teams are compared against the rest; I think if we keep our cool and play our game, we are right there with that entire pack.

The team is hopefully focusing on just that the rest of the season. Teams are going to take things away from us, but we have enough options to overcome that if we play smart.

I wouldn't like our chances against Nova period. I think they have been the best team since start of season. I really think they don't get the credit they deserve even being 1 or 2 all year. They had us down double digits each half and know how to close out games. We would play them tough but wouldn't count on getting a W against them.

After the last two years, my concern is how we match up with the opening round opponent.

With the exception of Nova and maybe Gonzaga I'd take our chances as 50-50 against any of them. I think our history (and Min/Iowa/Neb) causes us to underestimate this team at this point. But then I think we will win out so we'll see if I know anything at all.

Hopefully, it's this.....
