How attractive is the Purdue job right now?

Not very. Purdue won’t kick up for NIL.

With revenue sharing teams are supposed to be able to spend 20 million across revenue sports from actual tv/AD money, that immediately makes any big ten or SEC school better off than almost any non p2 school.

But that hasn’t been fully ironed out (I think it still relies on the courts to get a full settlement done). You’re relying on the ability of the AD to sell this as a done deal to top tier candidates.

Stop with the 8 million talk. That will get you a good solid coach. A coach who knows he’s an innovator, who knows that he knows something other people don’t.. knows he’s the next urban Meyer or whoever.. doesn’t need to dive face first on your 8 million. His agent will tell him to wait for the right opportunity

I’m just glad Walters is gone. You are your results and he was a train wreck

I always find it weird how the biggest Debbie downers on this board were also the biggest Walter driders when everyone else was on the fire him bandwagon week 3 or 4.

Purdue is one of the best available jobs.

There is only purdue, unc, and wvu when it comes to p5.

Purdue is the only p2 school. That means a lot of revenue sharing in the coming years. UNC may be able to counter that with NIL money as they will have 🏀 blue blood status and have been paying Big bucks for players for a couple decades id guesstimate.

West Virginia isn't a rich school, it isn't a rich state, it isn't a blue blood by any stretch. I can't imagine their NIL plus revenue share will over take ours.

Unless there is a surprise firing (Stoops?), I don't see much changing.

Isn’t Stoops the best coach they’ve ever had?

Pretty much but we are talking about the school who pushed out caliperi... UK fans like OSU fans aren't known to be reasonable.
I live in Madison, IN, and can see the State of KY across the Ohio River from my home. Lots of UK fans around here. Losing to Louisville is an unforgivable sin.

purdue would be a step down job for Stoops

On a desirability scale of 1 to 10, we are a "3" at best. No history of ongoing success, and no clear commitment to NIL funding on a scale that allows us to be competitive. Minus a huge (un-Purdue like) contract, we get another transitional coach a la Jeff Brohm.

My point has nothing to do with Stoops going to purdue. My point is there are only 3 p5 1 p2 schools looking to hire a coach. So unless uk or another p5 school for their coach we are one of the best landing spots in the nation.

The best ability is availability.

No offense, but you have no clue what you're talking about. If prior success were a requirement, that iu basketball would have Brad Stevens and ND football would have Urban Meyer.
Unless you're one of the mega donors who knows what we have in the NIL bank account, how do you know about our NIL commitment?
And, Purdue is willing to offer big money, just ask Jeff Brohm.

And whats funny is that the whole NIL thing is searchable and we aren't nearly as dire as some would make us out to be.

The notion that we won't pay for the right coach is laughable as well as history proves that false.
