ND recruits nationally and in or with programs like FSU, Alabama, Michigan, OSU, and USC. Not saying Brian Kelly wouldn't be successful at Purdue, but he wouldn't suddenly be bringing in multiple 5 star players to Purdue.
I actually think Kelly would be successful at Purdue with his system and his past success, but if ND lets him go, he would be first pickings for other gigs like Penn State, Baylor, etc.
Not quite sure with DH developing them ... although it's difficult to mess up 4 and 5 star kids. But he would find a way.
his team didn't quit vs msu after getting steamrolled 36 -7. the way our guys hang their heads after getting down, that score would be 57- 7.
While Kelly may recruit just fine, ND gets ND talent bc they're ND. I mean, you understand that part, right?

Kelly is great at running a program outside of gameday. He's also a scumbag. I'd rather keep Hazell than hire him. Winning isn't that important to me.
I don't think pros would go for the screaming, cursing, red-faced act on the sideline.
I suppose. But those 2 don't scream at the players, up in their faces, on the sidelines during games as much as BK does.
We need someone who has demonstrated that he can recruit well at a bottom-feeder school. Greg Schiano did that at Rutgers.

Good point. Obviously we need EMMETT KELLY, you know, since we are finally getting rid of one sad clown who has been destroying Purdue Athletics for 24 years, so we might as well bring another one on board to keep the infernal circus going.

I was listening to Mike Francesca talking to Gary Danielson this week, and Danielson seemed to confirm that BK might be interested in moving on .......Francesa thought he meant to somewhere like LSU and Texas, but Gary also specifically mentioned Purdue, but Francesa was talking over him...Gary added that he has heard there has been contact already (he didn't say for which school)....you can listen to the podcast segment for yourself.

I can't speak to the Purdue connection, but I know through a former ND player (close family friend that played in the late 60s) that Kelly is getting close - or is already burnt out there.
I enjoyed watching that game too, but I'd still take him as our coach if we couldn't get Fleck, Norvell, or Schiano.
Kelly would be a disaster at Purdue. If he can't win with the talent he has at ND he sure as heck won't win here. Plus I don't like his style.
Purdue can do better.

I actually felt bad for the ND players after reading parts of what Kelley said after the game. The guy is a flat out douchebag.
Kelly and ND deserve each other in my opinion. I look forward to their long association. Togetherness is hell!
Though history says otherwise, what if last week's win, albeit against a bad IL team, propels Purdue to win most of their remaining games. That's what I'm hoping for! Cycling through another coach is another crap shoot.
