HORSESHIT CALL OF ALL TIME

I have a rules question here, since I wasn't paying attention and maybe they said this. If it was a double foul, why did IU get the ball? I thought it was possession arrow. But if that was the case, why did the possession arrow stay with IU?

Jackasses should never be allowed to work a game again.
Wait, one guy saw it our way and refused to back down to Simpson who called it on Caleb. If there is no agreement then it's a jump ball or I think that is what it used to be. Rarely do you see it happen and I've never seen it on a charge block call.

Refs just didn't have nuts to make the right call.
That was not the case...it was that Simpson was adamant in that he was calling it a block despite it already having been called a charge...there was only one official at fault, and it was Simpson.

Except that particular call is generally the under basket officials call.

Once again the flawed review system comes into play. If they can go to the monitor with a magnifying glass to naked flagrant calls why are they not allowed to make decisions when they can't agree on a call? Better yet with a 3 man crew I can't believe the decision was split evenly. Just no balls.

Agree...and thank goodness Szelc not only made his call, but the right one, as that game potentially goes an entirely different direction if Simpson's missed call is the one that stands.

Simpson has been bad against Purdue in the past more than once...the most notable being the Purdue/Oklahoma game in MSG...but he has long been bad in games involving Purdue seemingly.

there were many bad calls in that game last night but the blarge was the worst. to me it was clearly a charge. even dickie v super iu fan that he is saw a charge. refs tried their best to get iu to win but thankfully we overcame the refs and some disappointing shooting from most of the team. good thing ce,ve and biggie showed up to play. haas needs to step up and i dont understand mathias only taking 3 shots. but a win is a win and i will take any win at ass hall any day

In the end it was fortunate for us that a rule existed and the refs recalled it correctly, on what to do in a double foul call! I can only think of one other such bizarre call in a basketball game!

In a HS game two players were called for simultaneously fouling the same opposing player. The team was in the double bonus so they shot 4 free throws in a high school game.

Blarge....lol

Looked more like a chock to me.

That is ****ing horseshit!
The last 2 fouls called on Swanigan were total BS. The last foul called on Mathias was awful, too. The rebound was coming to him and the IU player came from 6-feet away to jump on his back. The ref called the foul on Mathias. Blind, or betting on the game? I'm not sure if it was the same ref, but when you see this kind of crap, you have to wonder.

I thought the refs were actually pretty good last night. They let a lot of PU slapping, grabbing, swatting, take place. Hell, PJ stripped Blackmon 3 times when he was going up for jumpers and only got called 1 time. That's usually an automatic call no matter what.
So, yet, the Blarge was a tough call, but it did look fairly simultaneous.

Here's the difference. Swanigan was moving his feet, like you are supposed to do, staying between Bryant and the basket. There was no use of hands by Swanigan and he did not move into Bryant. Bryant ducked his shoulder and initiated the contact.

Blake Griffin is still shooting free throws from that MSG game. Thanks for dredging up that memory :D.

Almost forgot about the IU/Michigan game so I turn to the CBS station. Doggone it wasn't no more than 30 seconds into the broadcast and Thomas Bryant is driving to the hole with his head down into the Michigan player. Unlike the Purdue game, the refs emphatically called Bryant for charging.

I remember that game...The ref that screwed us in that game was Michael Stephens.
