Not necessarily in order - Recruiter, Pass Oriented Head Coach, Aggressive Defensive Belief, Strong Mid-West Ties, Younger, - Niceties would be QB expeience

Agree, however Hazell was run oriented. Not a good fit for the home of the Cradle of Quarterbacks.Wins.
In all seriousness, all of the above are necessary. And we won't know that the next coach will be successful immediately. I don't know if anyone thought Brohm was going to the bees' knees when Purdue hired him. People wanted this guy or that guy. Same with Hazell. No one knew he was going to suck when he stepped on campus.
We as fans and seat-buying alums have to have the patience and the trust that Mike Bobinski can make the correct choice. How do we sustain the growth that this program has had in the last 6 years?
Hazell was also lazy as hell. Still recall the bye weekend we had one season (3rd year I believe) - and his only recruiting trip was to Central Catholic in Lafayette! I knew then he was done….Agree, however Hazell was run oriented. Not a good fit for the home of the Cradle of Quarterbacks.
I'm looking for someone who wants to be here for the grind and not the $. Someone w/ HC experience and has some success at a place where it's somewhat challenging to recruit to. I'm leaning to Clawson right nowNot necessarily in order - Recruiter, Pass Oriented Head Coach, Aggressive Defensive Belief, Strong Mid-West Ties, Younger, - Niceties would be QB expeience

On paper he seemed like a good hire, coming off of a great season at Kent State. He actually brought in some talent and had decent assistants, but just was in over his head and retired at a pretty young age for a former head coach.Hazell was also lazy as hell. I did. I knew his “control the line of scrimmage/power running attack” was a pipe dream. Was obviously going to be Colletto 2.0, only worse.Same with Hazell. No one knew he was going to suck when he stepped on campus.
And he bungled a whole bunch of legacy recruitments.Hazell was also lazy as hell. Still recall the bye weekend we had one season (3rd year I believe) - and his only recruiting trip was to Central Catholic in Lafayette! I knew then he was done….
Terrible hire and should be an example of what not to do at purdue. From the very beginning....tressel,, the thought process, etc.On paper he seemed like a good hire, coming off of a great season at Kent State.
