Hell of a fake punt

I know what you mean. Special teams under Boehm is an extra weapon.

Joe Schopper has been stellar with those this year.
The really impressive thing to me is how it appeared that schopper had to look off an initial receiver or route and wait to find the eventual receiver. The play took a while to develop and schopper showed remarkable poise to wait and then find the open man. For a guy who doesn’t get to play QB, that was more impressive than the actual throw.

He looked like a seasoned QB out there.

Keep waiting for one of these trick plays to blow up and end up in disaster but to the staff's credit I can't recall one that resulted in a turnover or points the other way. Even when the flea flicker or something doesn't work it doesn't cost us possession or a big loss in yardage. Mostly low-risk high-reward plays and situations. I'm sure sooner or later one will blow up on us and we need to remember not to fly off the handle when it does.

I guess I just thought that he looked to throw at first just to freeze the defense? Really a great play by the kicker.

Either way (whether it was a fake or true look off) I agree with you, great QB play by a non QB

Ya, after he hesitated and took several steps forward I thought Purdue was going to get called for having ineligible receivers down field. But the play was beautifully executed and the pass was right on target.

Did Schopper play quarterback in high school?
