Has Hazell set a record?

You want to know how good Jim Young was? He took Army.......yes, West Point (that Army....well after the Doc Blanchard, Glen Davis Army days) to three Bowl games (going 2-1) before there were 50,000 of them a season.

One of my good friends also hinted that Young stepped aside or didn't make more of a deal with his departure because of rumors surrounding the Arizona program. I have no idea, but I was sorry to see him leave, and I think that '84 team could have been even better under Jim Young, no disrespect to Coach Burtnett intended.
Jim Young departed under the scent of a scandal from his Arizona days - likely small potatoes these days. Nothing ever came of it - and I believe he later approached George King about reinstatement - but they had already named Leon Burtnett head coach. King refused to backtrack. Young quickly moved on to coach Army.
Leon went on to nothingness.
Jim Young took Army (Army!) to several bowl games. He was a great coach.
