The word 'detain' means temporary holding facilities, not permanent housing. The only person talking about permanent housing is you.

That is correct. The illegals would not be immediately deported. They are placed in detention centers until their asylum pleas can be heard in court. The average wait time is currently 3.9 years. But once we build the detention centers, the bill says, the wait time would magically drop to three weeks. Remember now, that's with 5,000 new ones coming in every day. And that is how the bill proposes to end catch-and-release.
