Well put, J-Het. An 11-year career in the NFL is a long one, especially for an O-lineman; here is to his good health!Originally posted by JHetfield99:
The dude is a Boilermaker original, everything I love to root for as a sports fan dork, easily in my alltime top 5 likely never to be supplanted from the list.

and offer him the offensive line job or at least some type of staff job. Nick, as many have stated, stands for everything that the program should be built on moving forward. He is a high energy guy and some one who, it seems, would be able to really relate well to players. He seems more interested in possibly a career in television, but the offer needs to be extended if he has a want to coach. His intelligence and passion for the game has never been questioned and he would offer some high energy on the sidelines that I think is some times lacking with Hazell's 'Tressel' like demeanor.

Apparently he took one too many hits to the head. I kid... kinda.Originally posted by tigerchump:
I don't know why he would leave San Diego either, but I think I read an article not too long ago that said Nick intends to move back to Indiana after he retires.
I undestand what you are saying, but Hardwick was the 66th pick overall. Nothing to sneeze at and you would expect him to be a decent starter for you.Originally posted by PaBoiler78:
had a heeluva career and I'd welcome him back to Purdue on the football coaching staff for sure. Seems to be the norm in Pro football these days, lots of guys not drafted high go on to produce big time. Look at the Super Bowl starters, there were no former 5 star recruits on the field, only one first rounder (Solder), Seattle had no receivers who were drafted, and arguably the MVP could have gone to a converted undersized QB from Kent St.
