I was watching some highlights of Hammons from this season. Man, when he goes beast mode, it's all over but the show. He really has some big time moves. Draft Express has him going #35 to the Celtics. I'm probably biased, but I think he's underrated. His numbers would be 3-4 pts and 1-2 rebounds higher if he didn't share time with Haas, not to mention we've had a couple games where he played less than 20mins. His per 40 (per draftexpress) is at ~29.5 which puts him up there with the leaders. I really hope he grasps this opportunity coming ahead (head to head with Diamond Stone, Thomas Bryant, MSU, tournament). He can securely put himself in the first round with a great showing over the next 10 weeks.

Also, worth mentioning draftexpress has Biggie going 35 in the 2017 draft. Vince was somewhere around 52 earlier in the year, but has since dropped off. Obviously, if he continues this hot streak he's going to find himself on there again.

AJ seems to me to be a very nice and smart young man. It would be nice, if he developed a nasty streak. I was hoping he would play more PF with Haas this year. He would be more valuable as a pro if he could. AJ has surprised me with his foot speed when he has switched to guard smaller players. I think he has also done well when he plays the high post. He is an underrated passer and he can nail the jump shot. However, he needs to learn to dribble to the basket when 15 feet out and he needs to learn to dribble when facing the basket to get off a jump shot. As a center, he has a nice array of moves in the low post and on D he is a rim protector.

I love the bond between Haas and AJ and I enjoy rooting for both of them. Outside of basketball, these two will be great contributors to the game of life.

I would love to see him go to Golden State or San Antonio. He would fit in Golden States fast offense. San Antonio would be a great place for him as they often play David West as their backup center and Duncans retirement is looming.

First off, the free NBA draft websites are typically not horribly accurate, especially at this time of year.

AJ is a BEAST when he is on. His problem is consistency. Remember last year, literally the theme of the season was which AJ will show up? And by having a solid second half of that season, he was able to shed that amongst Purdue fans/media. However, it's starting to creep up a bit again. He goes in and out of games pretty easily if you aren't actively motivating/involving him. He's been pretty much MIA in a couple of our losses, something that would raise red flags as an NBA team. Not to mention the NBA season is much longer than a college basketball season.

I know I've been on him hard lately, but I really like the guy. It's frustrating to me because we all know how good he can be and is a lot of the times. He obviously is not doing it cause of anything negative (i.e. selfish, pouting, etc.), he's just not an assertive guy. That will be his biggest hinderance in the NBA.

NB coach Miles summed it up perfectly in the first minute of his post game interview. "They got 45 from their bigs and 21 form 3 point range. You can't give up both. RD 3's were more daggerish than the dunks." If our frontline plays well and we hit 6--8 3's per game, we are at worst and Elite 8 team. Hammons was a beast today with a career game, but the 3's from RD and RC make life much easier in the paint. We could be scary good IF we can shoot the ball from outside.

i don't think it's if they CAN shoot from outside it's more if they WILL

edit: i would love to see 6-8 pick and roll plays per game. talk about catching them by surprise
